I just got a Huawei B593u-12 and even without antennas, MTN performance compared to iPhone receiver is a lot better.

Are you using a Afrihost sim or have you asked for your contract to be provisioned? I am unable to use LTE on afrihost at all. I'm using my own contract with just the apn activated.... I'm getting impatient cause I paid for a service and not allowed to use it. It works fine with the default apn mymtn and internet
Yah I'm also having issues on my iPhone now. It is an Afrihost data sim. This was yesterday - today something on the Afrihost/MTN front seems broken. I'm pretty sure this is something that is affecting cellular phones and not modems...

These are my LTE speedtest I did today between Richards Bay and Empangeni BUT it does not work on afrihost apn at all. This is on the MTN apn. Afrihost apn gives me this error.
Looks like MTN is denying me LTE with the afrihost APN. If they can get that sorted it would be awesome cause MTN data is expensive....

Did that but seems fruitless.... Ticket logged on 5th with response "We are looking into it" and a couple of pm's to afriman and he said he will look into it for me but since 10th no response or feedback....
No real response to my thread aswell...

Sorry to hear that man. I will give them more time to resolve this. Afrihost is still the best value mobile data provider IMHO. Obviously we want LTE. I can confirm this morning I still have no data connection on LTE, only 3G. This is for my phone only! My B593u-12 with Afrihost SIM is working 100% on LTE.
