Afrihost MTN Fixed LTE-A Thread

Does the Afrihost Telkom LTE option also run through the Afrihost network like the Afrihost MTN fixed LTE option?

I'm busy dealing with Afrihost on the matter.

If you feel comfortable anyone with international issues can pm me a contact number. They aren't aware of any degraded performance and is not shaping it either.
Has this been eventually resolved?
 
I was hoping to get better results. Seems the max I can get out of my connection is 15Mbps. During night is goes below 8Mbps. Now this is okay, but ya...Sometimes I get in the 20Mbps but that is for short periods of time. Is there perhaps a tweak or two I can do? I have the Huawei B525 router.

I'm using a B618s-22d router , I'll post my signal stats a bit later.

Gosh another month another top up - just sent this to product support. - Anyone else getting hella annoyed with LTE packages?


Hello Afrihost

Could you possibly look into increasing the max packages of LTE 150GB + 150GB is just not holding up and we finding ourselves topping up constantly.

Funny thing is we aren't heavy users. Even stopped using netflix this month.

Even if your packages can't go up (ie: 250GB+ 250GB), Im wondering if its possible (at some point) to dynamically change ones package (ie: 200GB anytime + 50GB nighttime) and thus sacrificing the night time data at 2x ratio to anytime.

Just did my research - how is it possible that every ISP offers this except for Afrihost (even the bad ones like telkom)

I mean even their sister company offers it. (Axxcess)

@AfriGuy @AfriFella (help a guy out here lol) I really need that 220GB xD

It just does not make sense - If i had to try mimic that package based on top ups, I would be paying R450 instead of R200 more and i refuse to believe your upstream provider would be like "NO WAY clients want more and want to pay more? How rude"

@AfriGuy so the 20th is the last time I got a reply from you, you say you didn't get my pm, cool, so I sent it again on the 24th. I find it pathetic that a paying customer has to run after afrihost all the time, im the one that has to follow up all the time, since we in lockdown do you mind actually just paying me a salary since I'm doing your job for you? Maybe give me access to your systems so I can log and follow my own tickets with MTN. I have this issue since January, since the first day I got the device. And the agent, prudence, that was handling my ticket, please send her back to training. I haven't heard from her in more than a month, and every agent I spoke to during the time I've had thise router has told me they would call me back at the end of their shift to give me an update, I'm still waiting for all of them. Your customer support has actually gotten so bad is almost hilarious.

Hi, Is Afrihost planning on offering 200+200 G MTN LTE packages soon. There are a few ISP's which are offering that. The max offering from Afrihost is currently 150G

Been begging for this and the funny thing is, the 220GB most ISP's have is perfect for me. ;)

Im currently on 205GB used (with 2 days left in the month), 150GB + 50GB top up+ 25 top up today.

Ugh, had to top up againnnnnn, - the small amount of data i had left (9GB) was used in like an hour and no matter how much i looked to see what was using it (updates etc) found nothing - but whatever caused it seemed to of stopped as im monitoring the usage now and its normal.

i think i had to top up almost 4 times for my mothers 100gig package..
