Afrihost MTN Fixed LTE-A Thread

Just got this a week ago. Every night at 8pm the connection goes to **** but signal stays the same. Why is that?
Hi RobRoy, Possible congestion on the network may affect your connection during peak times. Have you tried setting on 4G mode only on the router to improve performance?

Nothing but LAG Sins November 2022

Mine was fine for most of the year, but has started this about a month ago. All of Sunday it was sitting on 60% packet loss. Comes and goes though, 1 day on 1 day off. Very strange.

NO fixed LTE.. But Cellphone on same tower also Arihost package works fine.
Router FULL SIGNAL but NO connection..

And 15:00 and your Whatsapp Support OFFLINE..

I recently installed a MTN LTE fixed router (TPLink ordered from Afrihost). The router seems to connect/disconnect on an ongoing basis. This does not seem normal to me. Do you have any ideas why this would occur? Router has a good signal, 'full bars'.

Here is a log of the router's sessions. On a previous day, the router had a 7hour session with a +-2GB usgae which is more normal I would think? Any ideas what would cause this?

Please accept our apology for the inconvenience caused during this period. MTN has located the problem, and it was a hardware failure; they are working on the reconfiguration. Services are currently being restored.

Do you guys have any more insight into this? I only have 1 afrihost SIM our of 9 , but they all cannot connect to the net and on the spotty chance that they do, the international interconnect is limited to major sites only.

This has been occurring for me from yesterday at 11:55 , which corresponds to the beginning of the outage here :

I have tried going through the normal support channels, but so far it has been slow, frustrating, and nothing has been resolved, will one of you be able to help me? I am on a farm situated very close to the tower I should be connecting from, and when I actually connect to it, my service works great, but unfortunately the tower keeps going offline (throughout the day, constantly, no loadshedding), and then my router attempts to connect to another with mixed results. Sometimes it will connect to one, but the service will be massively degraded, and sometimes those towers also appear to be offline, which leaves me with no connection at all. Router already locked to 4G. Will one of you be able to help me? I have the tower ID that I should be connecting to, as well as some of the ones I can sometimes connect to.

I am sorry that you are experiencing degraded services.
You can drop us a PM with your account number and address so we can check the towers close to you.
Should we need to log a fault for your Tower ID, we will do so with MTN.
 
These guys, are amazing, I been with RAIN for a year now, took 6 months, of licking their arse, to collect their "Free To Use" router they collected it on the 1st of February 2023.

Yesterday evening I get a call at 17:45, they see my place of eork is closed, they are here to collect my Supersonic Free To Use router, you'd them, sorry, but router was collected long ago, some useless retarded idiot, never did their work, and are now wasting your time.

This morning RAM phone me again about the router, so I scratch in my wallet for the collection slip and give them the date and reference number.

Hopefully this is the last I hear about this router, fecking bunch of Knobs.
 
afrihost support is awesome have no complaints there xD , also got mtn uncapped package the congested times is sporadic never the same. only problem i have is loadshedding smashes this mtn tower here and they have 0 battery backup every loadshedding tower restarts 4 times for power off and restored

its quite annoying as it causes allot of no service problems is there any word on mtn side to rectify the problem? would be nice to have the tower stay on and not drop and come back on during loadshedding

Sorry, for jumping in on this thread, but I have a ticket open - IXU-352-31628 with an apparent faulty sim card which supposedly happened exactly on the 1st of September.

This sim card was delivered by you and the team and I paid an unnecessary delivery fee amount for it, do I need to go and do a SIM swap at a branch now to fix this issue or can the team not arrange another delivery for a replacement? Just want to confirm as it going "dead" on the 1st and the new billing month seems like a crazy coincidence.

You will proceed with a sim swap as soon as you get it.

There were no delivery charges for the sim, and the replacement sim will not be charged for delivery.
