Yeah, Afrihost really needs to clean up their website and template emails going out with contradicting Fair Use Policies. My sister-in-law signed up in December for a 100Mbps package, and the email that she received, makes it look like she gets a 2000GB FUP which is obviously not the case.

Yeah I also stepped in a hole like that in December. Signed up, 2 weeks later I'm throttled, only to be told I only have a 150GB cap. I had to upgrade to the faster package and suddenly it's not a bargain anymore.

@AfriNatic @Afrigirl

Hi. A friend wants to buy the B535-932 to sign up to pure lte.
Online some are advertised as B535-932, and some as B535-932a.
Is this the same item, and approved??

Hi.

Same device, different versions. We only have B535-932 listed as the approved device.

HUAWEI: 5G CPE PRO 2, B2368 (-22, -57, -66), B525S (-23A,65A, -95A), B535-932, B612 (-233, -533), B612S (-25D, -51D, -52D), B618S (-22D, -65D, -66D), B818-263

Experiencing horrible website loading times on LTE again. Speedtest somehow comes back good, but trying to load a page is a nightmare. Youtube, even their own site is taking forever to load.

2TB FUP? Damn if only that were true I could actually download more than 2 games a month.

So I noticed an interesting thing. My Archer MR600 Router that I got from Afrihost, Is currently showing that I have used 391GB of data for the month so far, but on Afrihost's ClientZone it only shows 346GB so far for the month. Obviously not complaining, as their statistics is the one that matters, but it makes me wonder what possibly cause the 45GB difference. Are there maybe times of the day that your usage does not count toward your FUP soft cap?

Anybody else getting pretty low speeds from yesterday already? Maybe it's something specific to the tower I'm connected to? I'm getting around 10mbps or a little over that but not much higher even at 4am when the tower shouldn't be overloaded. Signal stats haven't changed so I don't think it's a reception issue.

Not over throttle limit? just checking

Good check, but I don't think so. It shows me at a bit under 400Gb for the month and my package should get throttled at 500Gb I think. Also, in clientzone it shows "100% realtime speed" which I think would be where it would indicate me being throttled.

Seems good in PE still, on the 100mbps fixed lte package.

It seems to have come right for me overnight, back to mostly normal speed again this morning! edit: spoke too soon it's bad again.

Ouch, that's pretty bad! Mine is still giving issues, it's super slow most of the time, but then it recovered in the early hours of Sunday morning I was able to download a game from steam about 50Gb at around 7MB/s which isn't the fastest I've ever seen, but it's really respectable speed. Then the rest of the day and now back to super slow speeds.

I'm on 100mbps package.

Anyone else have problems accessing certain sites on Afrihost connections? I am unable to connect to certain sites with my Fixed LTE router and also on my Air Mobile SIM card on a phone. Vodacom connects fine. The 2 sites I have so far that does not connect:
www.roblox.com
www.wilddog.za.net
EDIT: Seems to have been a routing issue on MTN's network. It went back to normal after about an hour.

I'm using TP-Link MR6400 router with MTN fixed LTE and it's been working fine for the last few hours. Averaging about 15mbps down, 20 up. It's an old router and doesn't support aggregation. It has all the bands MTN uses and so far so good....

EDIT: aaaand it's blocked.

Guess I'm spending R2.1k on takeAlot for a B618. Hopefully Afrihost can unblock the card, the support conversation I just had via Whatsapp was laughable at best.
5 Years later - and I stepped into the same poo...oodle.

Good day <>,

I hope all is well with you. I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

When checking you are using TP-Link MR6400 and the supported device TP-Link MR600. You need to insert the sim card in a supported device.

Kind regards,
