Thanks for the replies. I cancelled my service today. The guy I chatted to said before the 25th.

It's sad really. I thought their new network was supposed to be 'rock solid'...it only lasted 2 months?

Which other ISPs are worth considering besides Vox and Axxess?

I haven't had a reply from 'critical' care in 2.5 days. Yeah, sorry Afrihost. I think I'll keep my cancellation in place.

Why?

I think AH should see they're losing customers so they can do something about the state of their network and service.

Where is AfriGuy, AfriGenie and the rest of them? Neglecting clients isn't the best business strategy...

LOL...there must be a clause somewhere that 24/7 customer support excludes Saturdays and Sundays.

I don't get paid to work over weekends yet I had to RDP into my work's SQL server to fix an SSIS package that failed on a SQL job at 22:00 yesterday...a Saturday night. Not because I'm expected to, because I'm not even on standby, but because I actually care about giving our customers what they need when they need it...unlike AH apparently :-|
 
The purpose of this thread is to highlight your specific ISP problems/experience and for that specific ISP to respond to it. In your post you made it clear that you were finished with AH and had submitted your service cancellation.

You made it very clear in your post and I'm pretty sure they will read it.

While I agree with you, you need to be fair and give them a reasonable time to respond on this forum. If you wanted an immediate response then contacting them via their customer telephone number would be a better option.

Note: the purpose of these specific ISP threads is NOT to ask for help in selecting a new ISP, hence my very friendly request that you take it to a new thread where other ISPs and their reps could also contribute. They cannot post here, so you would be losing valuable input by excluding them.
 
How can a company rep who's job it is to be on these forums, basically tell you to take a hike, and I don't want to help you any further. When all I have done is provide what is asked for and don't see any improvement in my problem. Is it wrong to expect the service I pay for, surely this is not the right attitude from the company. I have actually seen this been done to a few people who complain, they actually cancel your account.
 
Love how I can't cancel a service and also that you return the SQL error to the client.
