Having issues in Wilropark on Vuma. No connection even though the ONT lights look fine.

Anyone else? Afrihost support is closed.

There seems to be a spike in complaints on downdetector.co.za on Vumatel.

Anyone doing any PlayStation downloads atm? Not sure if it’s cached locally or only international (I.e Due to Wacs or something else) but it seems abnormally slow?

Perhaps they trying to switch back, I see the ship is nearly done, they apparently fixed one of the cables from what I could understand. They now working on the second. I think the UK side they still busy?

@Afrihost-Gian @AfriMan

I have noticed a sudden trend of fibre prices increasing. Will Afrihost be increasing fibre prices?

I have been happy so far but an increase will lead to me changing ISPs.

I would also like to caution you that the price of entry level fibre packages can only be increased so much.

The closer a 10mb line approaches R700, the less attractive it becomes to retain fibre.

@AfriMan - if I signed up for the pure fibre promo in Aug last year - I'm assuming if I cancel before the 15th of this month, the 6 month period is already up?

Where you off to, if I may ask?

I haven't quite 100% decided on leaving, but I'm looking at Web Squad. AH's international latency really bugs me and they can't/won't fix it, not to mention I'd save about R200/month just by switching over, for exactly the same speeds. I still don't understand how AH is so expensive on Octotel.

Anyone else experiencing issues getting IPs from Afrihost? Seems after a power failure on my end last night it hasnt been able to get an IP again. On SADV.

Well I am fed-up with AH support and FF as they cant seem to provision FF for line activation as I phoned this morning again (wasting 45min online) after the weekend has gone by to determine when the fibre service would be activated, sorry sir we are looking for a cxnk - or BNT number please kindly provide it to us. WTF...Since after I have signed the FF home installation consent form on the 29/01 I thought that the subcontrator FF is using to do the installation would have captured all the info needed for future reference to activate to line.
I heard nothing from AH support
I made contact with Afriman and he assisted with the router to expedited for delivery...Thank you..Afriman.
Logged a ticket again to AH support in the week... hey I have the router please help I cant connect....some lame excuses and apologies for big outings and they will attend to my request......
I decided to contact FF directly ,,apparently they cant deal directly with the clients ...sorry you must work through your service provider,,,they must just give us the number and we can provision the line...
Another 48 hours going going gone......cant see that the service would be online before the weekend.
I must say I had better service with my existing LTE connection

International Speeds back again to where we were with the WACs cable break since yesterday. Back to square one again it seems

Anyone else experience terrible download speeds since yesterday.

Im maxing out at 8MB down on a 1GB link.
Logged a call with Afrihost support and it’s been 24 hours and I’ve gotten one standard response back. I’m starting to regret my move. @AfriMan Any help. RAZ-694-245588D00C0B9-B834-45C3-AF7D-336100A3BA32.jpeg

Not a good speedtest server. Vox would feed the traffic over their own transit to SA and peer it with Afrihost. Rather use an independent speedtest server like GTT, Coreix, FDC Servers ect

Yeah something wrong there. You sure it's not hardware related? Happened suddenly might be Vumatel. Seems the Afrihost network itself is okay.

For me on my Openserve line it instantly maxes my line.

I’ve been suspecting it’s Vumatel. But you know them they won’t touch the call without a ticket logged by the ISP. I’ve been battling to get Afrihost to log a ticket.

Equipment is the first thing I ruled out. Link was fine up until 5ish today. Same thing happened yesterday evening When I logged the original ticket.

Funny thing though even with packetloss local should always be close to max speed. Also 8ms is a bit high on Vumatel you guys should be getting 4ms or less.

You need to get your Afrihost ticket moved to critical team so they can press Vumatel for answers.
