Yes but Telkom and Angola Cables aren't using it just yet. Seacom is so some traffic over Afrihost will be low when it goes via Seacom transit. For example.

Seacom over WACS to London from JHB. 160ms :love:

Which cable do they use for CPT to EUW? Hopefully WACS and not Seacom. And also, does CPT go directly to EUW, or is it routed through JHB, because that will just be stupid.

Well there is a couple of things to take note off. Seacom cable and Seacom transit. Seacom cable is the physical cable. Seacom transit is a transit provider just like the rest. IF an ISP has Seacom transit it could go via whatever capacity Seacom has with whatever cable. They have capacity on their own cable Seacom and WACS.

So when WACS was down all the Seacom traffic was going via Seacom cable. Now that WACS is back they rerouted traffic back onto WACS.

Afrihost uses Telkom transit exclusively but they rely on WACS. When that went down Afrihost got extra capacity from Seacom transit. So now WACS is back so that portion is now going over WACS if that makes sense.

For CPT ideally traffic should go straight over WACS to EU. IF you are seeing 200ms to EU that usually means via JHB first.

If you don't mind me asking, what is this fancy program you are using to trace the route, I would also like to check it out.:)

Edit: I forgot about AH's horrible routing from London to the rest of EU. That would explain it.

sat3 lands in eu, i think that is the difference. wish they could just stay on sat3 instead of wacs.
 
In this "modern" day and age :unsure: and cannot even automate the speed settings :rolleyes: I starting to think that by next June it still won't be done :X3::ROFL:

My PPPoE username and password was given to me on 8 November 2019, I was effectively a customer from this date, so counting November, December, Jan, Feb, March and April - if I sent my cancellation in to have effect end of April I don't have to pay any cancellation fees, right?

See if you can keep the Openserve line rental only and just cancel the data/ISP part. Moving an OpenServe line is a mission but there are a few data only packages from othere ISP you can use while still paying the Openserve charge. You can even use some Prepaid data.

Cloudflare is getting it perfect.

The best routes probably are.

WACS To:
UK,IRE,France North, NL, Denmark,Sweden

Sat-3 to:
Spain,Portugal

Seacom,Eassy to:
France South, Germany, EU East, India, Kenya, Djibouti

SACS to:
Angola, US East/South, Brazil, South America

Safe to:
SEA, Australia, NZL


These would be ideal but probably a lot of money! Cloudflare with Seacom transit get some of it right. They split the EU traffic over Seacom and WACS so EU is also the lowest you can get. They totally fail with US, South America and Asia traffic because all that goes via EU anyways.

Vox gets SACS right in a way with Brazil and US traffic at NYIX.

Really hard to get a good mix of traffic but I do like the better EU routes. Ohh and I do remember the Liquid Telecoms > China Telecoms route. 156ms to Hong Kong. That was the good old days.
