That's right Fjorko
I will do whatever it takes to get him connected tomorrow so that he'll be connected through the weekend.

Surely if his line went down at 9am that's when it was returned to the Vumatel holding pool? Why's it been stuck there for the entire day? The handover should have happened within a couple of hours? from my experience anyway... Mind you, I never do these things at month end. I suspect that's when the vast majority of activity is happening, causing delays. I'd rather forfeit a week, than schedule a migration for month end...

They still do the credit as it is still on the website. If they don't then yeah agree it's misleading. There are quite a few people that got the credit myself included and @sand_man and a couple others too. Maybe email Afriman the invoice and ask him to forward the invoice to Wendy so she can credit the cancellation fee. Wendy was a star and sorted me out. Email [email protected]

I ended up doing it via the support system to the billings/accounts dept. AfriFella assures me that was also a good way to go about it.

Nah - you will be connected tomorrow im sure. They said they had a few issues today...

I'm also vuma aerial..

PBCool did say that quite a few VUMA Aerial lines were affected by "portal errors". So even when the lines were cancelled on CISP's side, they would still show up as unavailable to the new ISP.

@AfriFella @Afrihost-Gian the one thing, probably the most important when it comes to measuring how good a service provider is is not, surprisingly speed, but how capable they are to respond to issues. How long does it take to react, do they always start with the problem at the customer as default etc. Afrihost failed miserably. Some context - After having enough of raising an incident and waiting days for a response I decided to change my ISP. The pure fibre deal looked good so I chose Afrihost. Getting my cancellation processed by the previous ISP was a 2 week ordeal but I eventually got it done. I notified Afrihost via email that they line is back in the pool and they can proceed with the migration. Received automated response but nothing else. Also according to the app no ticket existed for this. Requested a call back but got nothing within the estimate given, only received a call 4 hours later when I was busy. While waiting for the call back I tried Whatsapp. After a 30 minute wait and explaining my request I made the comment that it looks like I will need to cancel before the migration is even done. The response? "We understand". Just to get acknowledgement that my request to proceed with the migration was received (not processed) took a whole business day and I only got that confirmation VERBALLY because I spend MY time haunting Afrihost. Is this the type of service provider I want to give my money to? Hell NO! 0 out of 5 and they did not even get out of the blocks yet. And so the search continues.........

I personally think that a company like ah who are trying to rebuild trust and win clients over should try harder than ever before.. It's all very well getting new clients.. It's another thing keeping them.. Always easier to retain a client than look for new ones.. Just saying

This is exactly why i was sceptical in the beginning. When they launched this deal - they were all "vuur en vlam", but i get the feeling its already starting to slip a bit.

Any sign of crap service - i will take my 3 months of saved payments - give them back their R999, and then get outta there like a flash.

Still cautiously optimistic though . . . .but they mustn't start getting slapgat hey....

True.. But let's see how it goes.. I'm all for giving a company as 2nd Chance as I was with them till December last year.. But no ways I'll give a 3rd..then I won't touch them with a 10 foot pole no matter how great the offer is..

Yep - lets see how it pans out. I really hope for your sake that you can get connected today. Please do let us know as soon as you are ...

I look at scenarios like yours to kinda gauge how my experience will go, but seeing as I'm with a different FNO, it might be completely different to yours.

Waiting with bated breath..

@Afrihost-Gian, congratulations on an awesome product and an awesome launch.

I was hesitant to move over to Afrihost because of the bad rep from the past... but everybody deserves a chance, so I gave it a go!
From order (Monday) to online (Thursday) the process has been smooth and easy.
The staff have been very friendly and the Whatsapp support has been absolutely amazing.
The great pricing coupled with promotional offer provides exceptional value.
All of this means nothing without performance though, and I can honestly say, this is where I am most surprised! The performance is absolutely top notch. Ping is low and throughput is high. (Best speed I've seen to my private international server ... ever!)

Congratulations once again to Afrihost and the team!
