Afrihost Uncapped DSL Feedback

Hi there I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this is there a problem with afrihost and Google app updates not working with afrihost ads but fine with yellow mobile thanks from Craig

I'm not aware of any issues at the moment, was working well for me over the weekend. Are you doing the update over ADSL WiFi?

Now that im employed, im dying to upgrade from 1meg to 4 meg. Just worried that my SNR is bit on the low side.

I can check for you quickly. :) Just drop me a PM with your DSL Line number.

It's accessible for me at the moment. Would you mind running a traceroute to 9Gag quickly?

Uncapped 4mb Cape Town, been having these sorts of severe latency issues at random times for the last week or so, it is similarly bad when trying openweb and crystalweb accounts so I assume it is my line, assistance would be appreciated!

Good morning. Looks like you might have tried to attach an image in your post, but it's broken on my side. Do you experience these latency spikes throughout the day or only during the evenings?

Ahh my bad, a few weeks ago it was terrible between 5pm and 11pm, the last few days it has mostly been bad after midnight.

We're not seeing the kind of traffic that would cause this severe latency after midnight. What is your ping to bras.afrihost.com when you see results like this? :(

I have an uncapped 4mbps account which sees > 2.1mbps. Looked at the much improved Telkom site today and it shows that my area is only provisioned for 2mbps. How can Afrihost allow customers to select and pay for a service that, if telkom is to be believed, cannot be delivered?

Had a quick look on the client zone and it appears that I could select and pay for up to a 40mbps service. this seems out of order since I pay Afrihost for the line and would assume that you have knowledge of its capabilities.

Our systems read from a Telkom API - it's very possible that Telkom have implemented changes that they will roll out to their API later. However, at the end of the day, we don't charge clients for upgrades until they are implemented, so there is no danger of paying for something you can't get.

Telkom also adjust their limitations based on several factors, like congestion etc. For example, my area was allowed 20Mbps for some time, but is now restricted to 10mbps. I still have my 20Mbps line, but people signing up now will see that only 10Mbps is available.

Solike...if I get an email for copyright infringement...do I have to respond to it?

Yo AH team, when would be the best date to upgrade my ADSL package on the 26th or the 25th?

We're running the R1 promotion on new sign-ups and upgrades for DSL accounts, so I would upgrade as quickly as possible if I were you. :)

If I upgraded from 1meg business to 4 Meg business uncapped what would be deducted on the 25th?

PS, I have a 1 Meg account with 2 Meg line for 397
