The Home Uncapped accounts are intended as entry-level products.

If you're going to be streaming a lot a Premium Uncapped account may be worth looking at. I'm not sure if a 200GB Capped account will be large enough.

It is a 4Mbps Business account.

Ping is usually 200ms to 240ms and the game is playable at that.

But the last week the packet loss made it impossible to play.

Last night I could not even log into the game server with afrihost but webafrica had no problem.

It wasn't just you last night, I had to connect my nephew on one of my accounts, because he also had problems signing into psn. Lots of people on twitter complained about the same problem: good speed tests but massive packet loss, one pointed out that he couldnt even load the afrihost webpage with their connection- and I tested it and also got timeouts.

Do you know what error message he was getting on PSN? Which region was he connecting from?

EDIT: Useless. Tried multiple separate things. Netflix can't even login. Diablo3 wont load (tested both US and EU regions), World of Tanks logs in, but when trying to join a game, it times out.
Even just trying to load Afrihost's webpage results in errors and timeouts...
Connection = useless in current state.

8:17PM: Limited success. Able to load into Diablo3, but latency around 1200ms+ means its pointless anyway.
8:27pm: Latency has improved to around 600ms, but that is still not usable at any level.
8:44pm: Haven't been disconnected yet, but latency remains unstable, jumping from 500 to 900 every second or 2. Remains unusable.
8:51pm: some semblance of usability at the moment. Connection stable. Latency stable at expected levels. Will monitor.
10:54pm: Connection held stable, latency acceptable. Going to bed now. Praying this **** won't pop up again tomorrow night, but my faith is running low...

I don't remeber the exact error message but it was either "cannot connect to server" or "service unavailable". He is connecting from Pretoria (his psn profile shows a SA flag so I assume the region is SA). The problem was isolated to afrihost, when I toggled my nephew over to my isp he could connect. I tested it a few times to show my sister that the problem was with her internet. But like I said in my previous post, general browsing was also affected I couldn't even load your website. Note the issue disappeared at around 21:30 last night, and acording to my nephew stared again at 19:00 tonight.

Same here. Some apps started an update and was running at 15k/s Connect to Mweb and it runs at full line speed. Diablo totally unplayable after 20:00

Do you maybe have the username that your nephew was using? Could you PM me the username please.

Our Network Team is investigating the issues raised by our Clients in the North last night. We'll definitely get to the bottom of this.

How is it, that some people on the exact same account are having different sort of experiences? I am actually confused by this.

I noticed that somebody who is on a unshapped capped account as an example in the same area or city, but the one has no issues, while the other has plenty. Surely this cannot just be a data issue, but more a line/exchange or other factors as well?

That's why we have to investigate each issue that is raised by our Clients. We can't assume that two similar-appearing issues are being caused by the same cause until we're 100% sure.

1. Is there a network issue currently? My international sucks. Im trying to upload pics or just browse some international sites and its crawling. Last night as well i could not chat to MS support because of the horrendous internet speeds. Yet speed test is fine

Im on uncapped 10 meg premium. My torrents are def shaped because if i switch to mobile MTN i get full on speed. Yet the control panel says im running at full speed. I need to turbo boost every time to just get full speed on torrents. Please fix your control panel to reflect this or stop lying to me that im running at full speed when im not.

P2P may be shaped during peak hours on Premium Uncapped, but I can assure you that we're not seeing any general issues on our DSL network at this time.

Could you please send me a traceroute to one of the affected sites? Perhaps we'll be able to spot something there?

Starting to get packet loss again tonight,not as bad as previous nights but it is there.
