Afrihost Uncapped DSL Feedback

dammit this morning its fine.you are very sneaky! will check tonight again. funny thing. when I stream from YouTube. it picks it up as a video file that is streaming. but when I stream from DSTV it picks it up as a File download so even on my system it slows it down.I have bypassed this to not be an issue on my side. could it be that the dstv streaming service is being incorrectly classified on your side?

LOL! Not sneaky, but the reps on here also sometimes need their beauty sleep. :) We generally stop responding on the forums around 9PM in the evenings. Please feel free to post your test results, though, and we'll pick it up again first thing in the morning.

I will do. but can you investigate the dstv now thats classified as file download and not video streaming? maybe you see something?

has a look yes please :P

Mweb SA servers experiencing problems. AKA steam, so people please be soft on Afri-everyone tonight! it is not their fault!

Oh no! :( Did they indicate what the problem is?

It is what lord Gaben has displayed on the Steams. we do not question this. So I assume some other issues as well. will test DSTV now later as they host this as well.

Any luck on my issue? Tonight it is DREADFULLY slow. I am struggling to download a 50mb Steam game? 5kbps :(

I have been in contact with the clientzone support guys but they seem to respond in 2 days and it seemed that my email on Friday wasn't received by Afrihost and I asked about it and yesterday a guy came back asking me to resend, nothing since then

I am glad your connection is working properly. Mine is dismal at this moment, Steam downloading at 5kbps. You either sit at Afrihost or the exchange is in your house with those pings, I have never seen that sort of ping with my connection

There was a Telkom guy here at some point checking my line. It wasn't syncing at the correct speed and he told me that the area that I stay in has a problem with noise on the lines ... Might be that the lines are degrading?
If that's the case, @Afrifella, can you please arrange for someone to come and check this as I am currently syncing at 6mb and I should be 8

My ping result has nothing to do with speed though as I should be getting a proper ping/trace even with a 128kbps line but you never know. My online gaming has been non-existent this past few weeks and I am starting to get withdrawals :(

I'll ask AfriFella to follow-up on this for you.

Latency tonight is rather bad, usually get 9MS on AH TS server now i get 33-60ms.

Could you post some tests the next time you experience something like this? I'd love to be able to pass it onto our NOC Team. :)

So... Afrihost.

I'm going to ask again, and this time I'd appreciate an answer that demonstrates an ability to recognise the letters of the Roman alphabet on your part, the ability to construct token groups from said Roman glyphs and, lastly, the ability to extract meaning from these token groups (otherwise known as words) and to respond in a manner appropriate to a higher mammal of the order Primates.
