Afrihost's Pure 5G

Hi, it is not worth it. it will always be detected as out of range, causing the sim to be blocked.
I know AH cannot doa anything about the coverage as that is from MTN, but how often does coverage get updated or towers upgraded?

And also i am like 500m away from the Telkom exchange that have a generator for the 2TB LTE that i am currently using. Signal never dies.

What device?
What speed do you get from Telkom being that close?

I'm kind of happy with the 10Mbps om the off-peak uncapped product for the price. So I'm not a speed-freak. Telkom upload speed is slow though :(

That 1Mbps for a 5G connection is laughable though...

I fall out of coverage by probably a 100m or so. Would it be worth the risk to try it?
I've tested way out of coverage. If you have line of sight it can work very well. Remember the 3500mhz of 5G will drop off faster than the 2100mhz and 1800mhz but can still travel a fair distance. Currently have an MTN afrihost SIM in that ZTE Router 2km from tower inside office but at the window with a few tree branches blocking. Average speed is 250 down and 50 up.

Afrihost ^
Burned through 882MB just for the download

@Afrigirl what's the difference between the normal Afrihost uncspped LTE and the uncapped 5G? They seem to just be the same product? Thanks.

They are essentially the same. Work on the same APN the thresholds are just more.
Since the last few days of October the 5G connection cannot get more than 35Mbps down. Signal stats below. Is the connection been throttled or is it just oversubscribed already?

Hi

The 5G signal looks a bit weak even for sub 6GHz NSA

Do you know if the signal strength was better when you got better speeds?

No was pretty much the same - haven't moved router. Usually between 200 and 300 Mbps.
