Argh!

True, but I have faith they won't pull a dirty on you ;)

Well they might not be the biggest company, but it'll likely still be bad for them to diss a customer like that. Especially a customer like me... :(

ROFL @ this attempted brush-off.

"BrightView is only available on the cutting-edge models". That tells me he didn't even bother to call the supplier, because I spoke to them this morning and they confirmed what I already knew: BrightView is available as an option.

My patience is slowly wearing thin.

The notebook is a 6730s:

Core 2 Duo T5870 (@ 2.0GHz)
PM45 Chipset
250GB HDD
DVD+/-RW with LightScribe
Bluetooth
Card reader

This is hardly a low-end notebook either.

Yeah that is just lame, tell them to stop talking SH&^ and swap the dam thing...

Bollocks man, there's no way this should have some b-grade screen

I think I'm just gonna take it back and get a refund... No, DEMAND a refund... This whole thing makes me sick to my stomach.

Edit: And they better believe they're going to get LOADS of negative publicity from this

My Fujitsu celeron has Brightview screen!

And my previous HP 530 had it too (and so did the Celeron version), so they can't even use the excuse that it's an HP policy

Edit: And technically, your Fujitsu Siemens has a Crystal View screen... But leave us not nitpick :p

Ok...

So I have now spoken to Amit (after asking to speak to someone who has more authority), who seemed like he wanted to help (but I'm getting used to this...). He says he's going to speak to the sales rep I dealt with, and get back to me

you should hellopeter their a$$es, then they'll sort it out quick quick

If it comes down to that, then yes. I always try to get things sorted before doing that.

As I say, right now I want my money back and nothing to do with them anymore. This has left a sour taste in my mouth to say the least

Amit has now decided that he doesn't want to help. And no-one can get their story straight, which makes me even MORE upset.

He says "I saw the email, and I don't see anywhere that it says BrightView".
I say "I have the email open in front of me right now" and I read him the contents.
He says "I haven't looked at it yet, and I'm driving right now, so I can't check.

So which is it?

In the same way, the sales rep says "Only cutting-edge notebooks come with BrightView" and in the next sentence says "We could get that notebook in BrightView if you hadn't opened it".

1) Contradictions don't do anything to help your credibility
2) If you're just trying to brush me off, let me know, so I don't waste my time with you.
