Cell C fixed LTE data throughput experience

Dear Oxymoron

Thank you for reaching out.

May we have the name of the device (make and model) you are using so we can assist you.

it's a Huawei P10 (VTR-L29) , other Cell C representatives have said that it's not possible for my phone but I don't believe it as I've seen others with my exact cellphone able to use WiFi Calling on your network.

Hi there,

This isn't related to the topic (sorry about that), but may I know what phone you're using? Trying to get my WiFi Calling activated.
Huawei P10 lite man.... But signal is kak

Dear Compu

How long have you been experiencing issues with the network.

Ever since I got the deal with Afrihost. I have sent through a network form back to them and now I await you guys to do something about it

Same here. Just need to put up with Afrihost for 4 more months before I can cancel. Hopefully cell c improves by then.

I am hoping for the best on black Friday.... Probably MTN or Vodacom will have something really good.... Hey maybe even Telkom as well.... But I am definitely cancelling this kak

This is what one gets on the Afrihost Cell C Fixed Wireless package!! This is one big joke.... time to go somewhere else.

Dear Pantani

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

When did you start experiencing this issue and have you reported the matter before?

From the second I put the sim into my router. It's been a week of nothing but miserable speeds.

I can already tell you that they will tell you it's congestion in the area.

I know been through all the steps as previously posted... Move the router, try a mobile phone device, try another device and plug in via LAN and do a speed test :-( this is so frustrating. Can one log this with the ombudsman, seeing after all one pays for the service that is soooo terrible?

Howsit man, not too sure about that.... Maybe Mybroadband may help us

Judging from Cell C's replies here, I think it is safe to assume that no solution is in the pipeline.
Almost switched from Rain to Cell C just now... But now, nah...
And I used to spend thousands a month on Cell C's prepaid data... Thought things were now different... Nah

Hi

Can anyone confirm if incoming connections are allowed and working on Cell C fixed wireless?

Thank you

Tonight was awful, could not even send a WhatsApp message.... Switched on the mobile data which BTW happens to be Cellc and it was on 4G and it works like a charm.... The problem is Afrihost

I just bought a Cell C simcard to test and I'm getting 20Mbps on 3G and 59Mbps downloads on 4G,so yeah I'm assuming Afrihost have their own apn or something which is causing problems for you guys, direct Cell C seems to be decent enough for me in my area.

Never ever rely on others results to make your decision, buy a test Cell C prepaid card and buy a daily data bundle(1gb for R25) and go test in the places you yourself intend using the service.

I made that mistake last year with Vodacom, unlimited calls and 10gb data for R599 but unfortunately absolutely unusable for me at work and home because of no network.

I agree with you on that, My CELL C 4G works like a charm. The Fixed Wireless is horrendous

Yup I too suspected that Afrihost had their own APN until I set my APN on Cell C's APN but this did little to help. It just sorted the random disconnects out and speeds did not improve even though I fully within the Cell C LTE and LTE-A coverage area.
