Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

I recently bought a 100Gig prepaid sim card for my 3G Modem. I'm located in Durbanville. My ping times and upload/download speeds are terrible. I get full signal strength HSPA on the dashboard. Pings are often > 800ms. :wtf:

Edit: I've just been contacted by Cell C customer care. However my connection via the prepaid Giga100 data bundle for the last two evenings has been excellent with no issues. The Friday and weekend was very bad. So I've mentioned that I'll monitor my connection for another week to see if the issue recurs.

My 5GB portion of the Giga20 is also depleted so I can't test that bit till next month. Also haven't been up late this week after 12am to test the 15GB nightowl portion of the Giga20.

Seems my speeds are dropping again. Will monitor to see if it persists.
 
I have never been happier since moving away from Cell C, every new contract, upgrade - there was an issue with the Data bundle, my wife could NEVER phone me, i would drive from sunninghill to boksburg (you know that big cellc tower next to the n3 hway - NO SIGNAL!!! She could never get hold of me that whole hour that i drove!!!

Moved to vodacom - couldnt be happier

I'm not too far from you in the northern subs as well (and right next to a building with a Cell C antenna) and my connection is sh*t too. I think you should read this and this thread, I think it can safely be established that the 100gig prepaid sim is being throttled. Maybe their CEO should get that bitch slap he likes to talk about.

I have the same giga package. It is useless, no speed and always disconnecting. I have another cellc voice sim and it works perfectly. i wonder if the 100GB is provisioned differently on the network.

Bought a Giga 200 Package in PE on Wednesday, accept only 3G available in the area, very slow since activation, at the moment almost no speed, it shows a good 3G connection. Is this normal for Cell C network.
 
Also struggling on with high latency, dropped packets and slow download speeds the last week or so (uploads seem good). Mostly during week nights between 5pm and 11pm. Seem better in the early hours of the morning. Location is Nelspruit, well within 3g coverage.

I have a Cell C Giga 20 contract as well as a FNB prepaid sim, both give the same issues on two different devices.

CellC network next to unusable in Obs, Cape Town today - I'm getting around 3kb/s on average. DNS lookups fail, nothing works.

Switching to another provider solves the problem instantly.

On FNB Connect which I believe is on CellC's back end and currently have no service in the Brackenfell area. Phone shows connected, 4G signal etc but no sms, no MMI codes and no data messages are sending.

Anyone else experiencing the same?
