Yes, sorry I didn't mean to imply that you are wrong. :) It's the people who tell you so. And in all honesty, they are probably right, I just don't want to believe that they are. :)

Not to ignore RPM, but I don't think i require a new thread.

I've experienced the CellC network as being very unstable and i often loose connection on my SGS2. I never had this issue with Vodacom. At home (Kempton Park) and at work (Midrand) I often sit with little to no signal.

Are you guys having tower, backend issues? Whats the deal?

Cell C 3G tower in Jeffreys Bay is completely down, while EDGE works like a bomb (just a very, very slow one).

Hi NAG -Wesley. How long has it been down for?

If possible can you send a pm to the Cell C rep (Cell_C) with the required details? You'll find the required details on the first post of this thread and then you can just click on the Cell C's rep's name to send him a pm.

That will be the quickest way to let him have a look for you.

Speeds are usually okay, around 4 to 5 mbps down and 1.5mbps up. My RBM contract phone is running ok in terms of speeds at the same location. The light on the modem stays dark blue and does not go the light blue colour

I have this annoying issue where my connection is dropped after 15 to 20 minutes, every day. I'll then reconnect and try again. Just rather frequent reconnects, compared to a couple of months ago where everything was fine.

Frequent disconnects

Location: Plumstead, Cape Town
Date & Time of Issue: Last couple of weeks
Device Manufacturer & Model: Huawei E367 / TP-Link MR3420
Contract Type (pre- or post-paid): Pre-paid
Existing reference numbers from Helpdesk: TT 1554821
RAT (2G/3G/HSPA+): HSPA+
www.speedtest.net results: Speed is not a problem.
Cell ID: 46242 (900 MHz), 40411 (900 MHz), 40414 (2100 MHz)
RSSI: -55dBm (900 MHz)

A new cell tower seems to have appeared very near to me (Cell ID 46242) which I am forced to use because of the very strong signal. No problem with speeds and signal strength, but my router has to reconnect about 20-40 times every day. This is very irritating when active connections frequently drop and you have to wait for the router to reconnect.

Braamfontein: Connection & Signal stregth 13 March 2012

There was constant disconnects in Braamfontein for most of today, and then in afternoon, my E1820 was stuck on Edge, effectively no connection, till 6:30pm.

It seems back to normal now.

No 3G or GSM from Papegaaiberg 44002 and Die Boord 44353.

Several towers are down in Stellenbosch, as also reported by friends of mine. And if we do manage to get signal, no data connection can be made.

+1. Down in Simonswyk, Stellenbosch.
+2 Down in Coetzenburg, Stellenbosch.
+3 CellC in Eikestad Mall can't make outgoing calls.

Just spoke to the technical help desk (140 then 8). They are aware of the problem in Stellenbosch

Tower 14443 in Malvern East/Wychwood is acting up again. Random disconnects every few minutes.

Frequent disconnects

Location: Plumstead, Cape Town

Since 16h00 on 16th March, 233 disconnections - about one every 20 mins. Situation getting worse. Same in Edgemead, so must be an area-wide problem. Yet call centre is unaware of any problem and say I am the first to complain, it must be my faulty modem

If that is so, why do 2 other people that I know of have disconnections at the same time and duration as I do?

Does CellC take us for fools? Why advertise and sell a product knowing full well it cannot in any way meet its advertised specification? This is downright fraud.
