Tourists are going to go WTF! when they realize they just spent more money looking online for a restaurant to go to than the bill for supper.

We, the consumers, are at fault here. We know everyone is ripping us off, but we don't really do anything about it. The black cultures in this country would pick up their toy toy banners en FORCE the companies to abide by their will. I think it is time we do the same. They should understand that we are the clients, the people who has the final say. Somewhere along the way companies started to regard clients as mere cattle to milk, they should know that they thought wrong.

The best way to bring in a message is to STOP USING VODACOM for a few months, rather go for alternatives. Of course this won't help unless everyone does this, which will never happen

It's capitalism, they may charge whatever they wish, problem here is not profit, it's that the government has a stock in Telkom and doesn't want to allow enough undersea cables to come to fruition.
It's that the markets aren't free enough, the government which is not supposed to rip us off but rather protect us, is the one ripping us off. Government has no right to simply profit off of it's citizens while keeping them back at the same time, sickening.

All I can hope and put my imput for, is that it would be super for me to have an uncapped HSDPA account, even if this is R1000 for 1.8 mbps, i'll go and take it.

All of the alternatives are the same. Besides for Afrihosts R15/gig

What they maybe don`t realise is that they are not competing against only MTN. I signed my 3g contract when it looked attractive vs. landline. Different story now, i`m going ADSL as soon as the contract expires.

Adsl will force me to activate a landline which will be cheaper to use as well. Thats -1 data contract, AND 1/2 the phone calls. I know i`m not the only one.
We don`t need to toy toy. Money talks, and the message will eventually get through when the board members see the red line on their powerpoint presentation graph starting to go down.

Well when I look at the current prices Ill be jumping ship the moment my contract expires. So many better (and cheaper) options out there!

Cheers vodacom

I have taken action already.

After 4 years of loyalty i have had enough of their ridiculous prices.
Landline on the way and ASDL coming soon.
Slower uncapped ASDL or Super dooper fast HSDPA that will tear through a 2gig cap in under an hour.
For me its a no brainer.

Bye bye Vodacom i will not miss you!

SEACREST OUT!

Exactly. I did that a couple of months ago. I switch from 3G to ADSL, but not only that, I also downgraded my cell to a 4u contract and now I almost never use my cell phone anymore. I use my land line and I call other people on their land line. What an eye opener. My monthly phone bills are a fraction of what they used to be.

What's the Vodacom emplyee discount like on airtime?

I am stuck with Vodacom for now seeing that there are no ADSL lines in the area and neither is there Neotel coverage.

Really Vodacom Rep, can you please give us an indication as to when these prices are coming down? My Vodacom connection is costing me a fortune as a web designer.

Forget the price drops, just give us bigger bundles like the rest of the ISP's!!!

Unfortunately as we are locked into stupid contracts, VC has us by the shorts.
But like an elephant I have a good memory. so when this contract is up, I'am off to ADSL. (Live 800m from an exchange)
I convert some of my contract's time to data bundles for mobile use.
So VC you contribution from me will be reduced by 60%

Almost once a week I am noticing yet another ADSL ISP cutting prices, increasing cap, or introducing data usage promotions.

When I first signed up for 3G there was no ADSL in our area, however in January this year finally telkom installed lines in our
area and both my neighbours have had stable connections since then.
But unfortunately I still have 7 months left on my 3G contract, but when the contract comes to and end, GOOD BYE VODACOM

Yep, I also can't wait for ADSL lines in our area. I will rather live with slower speeds than these rediculous 3G prices. I have noticed that tons of us complain about the 3G prices, but we don't here a single word anywhere from any provider:mad:

You are not alone, my friend! :(

We should point more users here because this post is on 16 pages so far...If it would make a difference is a whole other story. But we can try at least.

I see a lot of Orange Cable being laid around our Neighborhood - is it Neotel Landlines?
