I got Britelink and DAC for the installation, they ended up coming 3 times (in addition of 4 no show) to install the ONT and splice the fiber, all telling me that it will work by tomorrow every single time.

2 weeks later, Fibrehoods finally admitted that the fiber was simply not live (they poached customers who already had applications with Openserve by distributing leaflets stating that they were live and cheaper) and simply went to give back the ONT at Fibrehoods' offices and reapplied to Openserve.

6 months later, Fibrehoods is still not live and no one has a discovered ONT in the building, and Openserve being Openserve, we just don't know (their map says they're live but they haven't connected anybody).

At that stage, I wished I never applied for fibre and since then got LTE contracts so even if it Openserve becomes live tomorrow, I would have to terminate the LTE contracts first.

How to turn customers away 101.

This the same horror story from the Norwood fibre thread? How are you still not connected?

Same one.

Nobody is connected in the complex wether through Openserve or Fibrehoods (while we're live on the maps of both).

Some people even ordered and got DSL installed in the meanwhile, others use LTE like me.

I honestly gave up since I'll move in less than 9 months, I can't bother with another installation.

Its kind of sad really. Here was an opportunity for companies to best Telkom, but instead werent any better...

I think the major issue with most of the fibre providers are that they are all rushing to deploy, basically a land grab, then they end up with too much commitment that they can't fulfill so it becomes a cluster*****.

The fibre story is a mess at the moment. Once it works and while it works its bliss but trying to get it installed and faults resolved is a nightmare, even worse than ADSL in my opinion. Because there is not a single company(aka Telkom) that you deal with. You have 2-4 companies involved and they can't communicate properly.

Exactly... So they trying to put as many stakes down as possible. But at the cost of quality and proper service...

We had 3 separate contractors at our complex and the quality of work was horrible.

Yeah I have been seeing it a lot here in Cape Town.

Been with Cool Ideas on TTConnect for 2 weeks now. Amazing so far - 20/20 connection. Everything runs smoothly - streaming, downloads, browsing. Local gaming all 5ms ping. Very happy!

Agreed. Got connected yesterday on a 50/50 package, full speed, even though I tested over the wifi:

Although TTConnect are quite the headache to deal with, but once it's up and running it's been amazing.

Yup, installation is quite a process. Many other companies do everything in one go. With TT they had 4 teams visiting 5 different days, each to come and complete their portion of the work. Lots of back and forth to get it sorted.

Any update as still nothing in coolzone
It was assigned to a different department, I will have the support manager have a look. It's been logged with TTConnect and haven't had any further response.

Eddie tried to call you earlier and has also emailed, TTConnect want us to factory reset the ONT/Planet. I would suggest doing this when TT connect support would be available.
