Generally it's feasible but if Telkom are in there already they often won't take the risk when Openserve have signed up a bunch of the estate and won't bother moving.

What do ye mean? Lots of the areas which was Fibrehoods are now Vumatel aerial, they also deployed a bunch of other aerial areas since as Vumatel aerial themselves.

They are on the road as per their coverage page but no one can tell me if they'll actually connect me if I'm the only one inside :|

Sadly I'd pay double what I'm paying Vuma to Telkom it seems :(

Well this is what I am saying is that the reason someone more than likely hasn't got back to you is because they don't think it's feasible. You can drop me a PM with your name and address and I can try see what I can do.

Is it just me or is the TTConnect page on the Cool Ideas website gone?

I'm guessing that with all the issues that TTConnect has had, Cool Ideas has had enough?

Yeah we have ceased all new orders for TT Connect unfortunately. They are basically doing nothing to resolve their issues.

Regarding my painful fibre move away from Axxess.

I finally had a call from OpenServe today stating they received an installation order from Cool Ideas (progress!).

I told the guy that the line is already there, I'm simply moving to a new ISP, but he said they still need to come out (won't take long) as the B-service number needs to change.

Can you confirm whether this is correct? (unfortunately my knowledge is limited).

PS: Axxess never transfered the line back to OpenServe after I cancelled the service in April, hence the problems.

So if things do fall through with them, what would be done about existing customers?

Yeap that is normal, as painful as it is. Glad to hear things are moving though!

We are not sure yet, it's not all customers that are having issues so we may just keep the existing and reassess as we go. Things are very much in the air right now.

You can apply with us in the meantime as well :). That way we have everything ready to go, you just need to let us know when Vumatel are scheduling your install as well, and we can ship your router.
 
Endless issues with Vumatel and Cool Ideas since last week Wednesday...it got better over the weekend and today speeds and latencies are like trying to get internet on Mars, ffs... getting like 5mbps on a 100mbps line at the moment.

There is a Vumatel issue tonight, they are investigating the cause.
You will see the latency spikes on the first hop from Vumatel to our network.

Will this also affect Vuma Aerial / Fibrehoods? I'm experiencing very slow downloads on Apple Music. Trying to download 2500 songs and it's crawling at 50KB/s... very unhappy at the moment.

Nope shouldn't I have replied to your PM. Traffic levels are normal to the aerial side of things, as well as latency.
