Ok will wait until metrofibre give me the go ahead that they are liveWe don't shape any of our connections, as advertised.
Is TCP overhead in most cases.
Would this still impact me if I moved to 50mb rather?
Been considering moving down a level on the line.

Torrents are dependent on the torrent and the seeders, I've noticed on average around 1MBps per torrent and the really seeded torrents will max your circuit speed.
YipppeeeI will confirm that is all about the seeders speed. If there are enough you will get max speed of the line no issue. I normally hover just above 5.5MB/s on my 50/50 line for most torrents. Some that are badly seeded or oversubscribed will go at around 1-2MB/s. Still amazingly fast and zero shaping!

It would still be the same percentage. Getting 97Mbps they're still allowing you to burst higher than the 100Mbps. https://networkengineering.stackexc...76/trying-to-find-out-exact-tcp-overhead-cost
I am currently with Webafrica and would like to try out a new service provider, would it be possible to test out the Cool Ideas service before going through the whole cancellation and sign-up process? I am currently on the 100Mb uncapped.
So what's the procedure? Once METROfiber have installed I obviously dont pay them the R1750 right ?
Sorry what?Nope, metrofibre is all via ourselves.
Sorry what?![]()
@PBCool
Is it possible to provide me with a temporary test account on your network please?
I currently have a 100/50mbit fibre connection (on the OpenServe network) but am tired of paying for ridiculously slow speeds and bad latency at my current ISP - I'm considering switching away and am thus looking for a proper replacement.
Thanks.
Nice, cant help but look at Home connect thoughJust a quick note to say great after hours support received from PBCool.
Am a new Cool Ideas user (signed up this month) and pretty happy so far!
