As mentioned Vumatel has come back stating fibre levels are fine therefore they don't want to do anything about it. So we now have to play the process of elimination so ONT swap is the first step which they should have already reached out for.
ONT was swapped out at 13.00 today. Unfortunately City Power was busy repairing power lines so we've been without power until about 30 minutes ago.

Mailed social@vumatel.co.za to push with testing and configurations of ONT?

@PBCool what's the process from here? and how long before I'm live again?

So 2 youngsters in civvies (shorts and t-shirts) arrive to do the ONT swap out. Main youngster hopes under my desk and immediately starts cursing the techie who did the original install. I didn't dwell on it and left him to complete the swap, which they do and leave.

3 hours later my power comes back on and I hope under the desk to check if the ONT is powered up. I push the power button and the thing just about falls off the wall and its mounting bracket/screws. WTF? One of the 2 screws is loose so it's not mounted properly. Bloody amateur hour and the guy had the audacity to criticize the techie that came before him?

The more I see of Vumatel, the more I dislike them. They really are the new Helkom!

@PBCool: How far are we from solving the frogfoot international speed? There is only 1 month of the year left. I have this issue since july. Its really not on being stuck with this issue into 2019...

I'm being limited to 2MB/s on downloads on my 100Mb line. I changed to mobile and the download went up to max speed LTE would allow, so it's definitely not the download itself. Switched back to fiber and now it's back down to a constant 2Mb/s, refusing to go above. Maybe there is some weird issues happening unrelated to shaping, but still very iffy and looks suspiciously like shaping.

Edit: I even tried 4 simultaneous well seeded torrents and it splits it to 500kb/s for each, 2Mb/s total. If I stop 3 of them, the remaining one goes up to 2Mb/s. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now, but still...
