The website is a work in progress, but when you email, they'll do a Fibre Feasibility for you. Used Fibre Providers are Vumatel, SADV and OpenServe thus far.

So you're connected to them? If a company can't put a half decent website together I have little faith in their ability regarding much more technical matters.

Everything gone to a ball of **** tonight.

CISP Vumatel trenched Blairgowrie 200/200

Been smooth sailing for weeks now on vumatel trenched in Wilgeheuwel.

Muchos gracias

Since this afternoon's hiccups it seems my connectivity to Mega.nz is now fixed.
These guys seem to be changing/rerouting traffic to put out fires. Not a very good idea that. I've seen/experienced this before with CrystalWeb.

Were you having issues downloading a file? I'm able to access the Nvidia site, but as soon as I try download the drivers I get 0 B/s

No I'm uploading everything from hard drives into cloud storage, because ma se p*es Eskom's load shedding has already killed three of my hard drives.
My only issues have been somewhat hard-to-quantify packet loss, stalling uploads to mega.nz (its stuck right now), which I am willing to bet is due to packet loss, and the occasional daily downtime lasting a few minutes.

The fact that uploads are getting stuck, and as for downloads points to the problem that affects every user on CISP's network and its simple as this: Their link from the upstream provider is either running errors, or the network equipment is badly configured for traffic shaping and is dropping packets at random. I have seen this problem before many times with new-kid-on-the-block ISPs who don't really know what they are doing when it comes to managing the huge amount of data that flows between their upstream provider and their clients.
I have seen people getting issues on iperf with out-of-order packets... and this is why downloads get stuck on 0b/s.

The short answer is: We're stuck with this problem until they figure out what the hell they are doing or get people in to sort out the configuration of their network hardware.

I wish you are wrong.

But I am convinced some kind of heavy handed traffic management is occuring to traffic on CISP

In that case, I'd recommend that you hurry and contact the mods here to become an authorised representative for the company and ask them to delete all the posts in this thread pertaining to your ISP, before you and the company are perma-banned from this forum. You're currently hijacking a support discussion for an authorised ISP support thread.

the problem is always the "new broom" syndrome... when everything is new and customers are small in quantity then all goes well... Then when the customer volumes get large... whoopsie...

So what is wrong with your connection?

I am also confused with these reported issues.

Ive only had a serious downtime after few days ago loadshedding that killed Vumatel in Durbanville. Aside from the 2 hours of no fiber sync I can't really fault coolideas performance local or internationally.

Something else must be going on with these strange results some users report that is not directly related to coolideas.

This is happening a lot with the fibre providers.
