There are no changes on our side, traffic levels are lower than usual. The weekend traffic was very similar to a regular week days traffic.
So most folks are on holiday. What about when they come back?
This is a thing I struggle to understand because its been a good long while since I've encountered an ISP that tells the truth. Last time (Crystalweb) I was told "its confidential" as if we were dealing with a state secret. I find that laughable, either you have enough international capacity, or you don't.

It's no state secret we never saturate our international capacity. We can upgrade on the same day if we need to, is the point of having a pop in London. We currently peak at 70% on Sunday evenings which are the busiest.

Not yet, but not sure what an iperf test has to do with bad twitch vod playback?
A month or two ago twitch vods played back perfectly. Not sure what changed.
Try bypass the router and do an iperf?

@PBCool

Don't know if it is just me, but when I'm playing games especially PUBG, the game all of sudden loses connection, but as soon as I'm in the lobby it lets me rejoin the game. It is almost like the connection drops for a split second.
On OpenServe in Durban area.

It is strange and not sure if it is just me.

UPDATE:
Seems to happen mostly at like 9 at night, but it did just happen at 16:00.

Can you check your PPP session uptime on your router?

Uptime is 30 minutes, which meant it did drop. But it reconnects so quickly, which is strange. Normally If I do a reconnection it takes noticeably longer.

So when everyone comes back everything is going to go bad again?

This is what I experience with twitch. Sunday is by far the worst day of the week. Guaranteed unusable. Mon-thurs is mixed bag. It can be fine, it can be unusable and you get everything in between. Friday is the best day of the week to stream twtich. Almost always works well. Saturday is a mixed bag and Sunday is the worst again. This is all during peak time. Does my experience follow your traffic graph?

Not capacity related on our side is what I am saying, we still have lots of capacity on all paths. We get a mixed bag of results from customers on different layer2 providers as per the previous posts.

Well it was nice having great twitch streaming for a week or so on CI.
I see we are now back to buffering:

Cool keep me up to date, it shouldn't be an issue to be resolved tomorrow I imagine.

It all goes from bad to worse.

Still haven't received any feedback from Cool Ideas or Frogfoot since Friday.

I did receive an email this morning to tell me the last-mile fibre installation appointment has been cancelled. This is very strange because the last-mile fibre installation appointment was last week, and has been completed. The service light on the ONT turned green shortly thereafter.

Somewhere, somehow, something or someone is supposed to be speaking to something or someone else about my service but that just doesn't seem to be happening :(

I'd like to know too. I'd like to upgrade for at least the rest of December and into January and then downgrade again. Is this possible? What costs are involved?
You need to log a ticket and request it..
I logged a support ticket and got a reply that I can do it directly on https://shop.vumatel.co.za/

To upgrade, just activate the new package, choose activate ASAP instead of on the 1st, wait 15 minutes, reboot CPE.
You will be billed pro-rata until the end of the current month.

Apparently downgrading is not pro-rated, so needs to be done before the end of the month. I guess this is where you should choose to activate on the 1st.

I'm very happy with the upgrade from 20/2 to 100/100.

Oh wow!! So the whole process took you less than 20 minutes?? That's bloody awesome actually!!

Yeah so if it's dropping it's more than likely a line fault, just log that your PPP session keeps dropping. Alternatively try a different router?

Yeap on trenched you can just use the COS portal.

@PBCool I know twitch sometimes routes to the wrong place, is 'lhr01-br01.justin.tv' the right one?
We dont control this kind of thing, twitch should be doing so, like any CDN. This is based on demand latency etc, so I cant really say which server to be using.

Have you tried a test account as yet? If it doesnt work then the layer2 is still not complete from FF side, have you spoken to connect again today?
