@PBCool do we need to bounce our routers/ ONT's for these changes to take effect?

Steam has local repositories, yet I am still downloading at sub 100bytes on 100/100.

Well, happy to report that I haven't had issues here in Bloem via Openserve fibre. Streaming Netflix, Youtube and Twitch without a hitch.

In light of that, I feel for you guys that are having issues. Here's hoping there is a resolution soon for the issues you're facing.

Latency to EU is the best it's been in a while. Was there a congestion issue that was resolved when this fault happened or something?

Also curious how a fault of this magnitude didn't trigger any automated alerts, and had to be reported by users?

Hi @PBCool. We just got fibre in our suburb and I signed up with you guys. You arranged for OpenServe to come out to do the installation and they came on Tuesday.

They pulled fibre into my home and installed the ONT, but I have no PON light and the installers said they would come back the next day (yesterday).

I've since heard nothing and every time I call you guys you just say that you're waiting for a response from OpenServe. Someone else in my suburb had the same issue and their ISP had it resolved in less than 24 hours.

My adsl is with the disaster that is/was CrystalWeb, but even they respond quicker to queries - disappointed that you guys can't get hold of OpenServe after nearly 48 hours.

No changes, beyond the fault. We were aware of the increased latency to London but this happens every so often when there is an issue with the WACS capacity, there is enough capacity on the other cable systems. We are awaiting the RFO from the carrier.

Can you PM me your account details and I can follow up? This time of year makes escalations quite difficult.

If there is enough capacity, why were the speeds degraded? Or is this by design on your backup links?

Local speed test of course is good.
International is crap: Going to take days for me to do what I need to do *SIGH*

This is my result while streaming music in spotify on a 100/100 line. Same speedtest server as yours:

This proves CISP's international is 100%. Your line, even though it test good on local speedtest, may still be dropping packets, and that affects International with higher latency much worse than it affects local with very low latency.

There was something wrong with one of the links in Cape Town as mentioned, we are awaiting feedback from the carrier as to what happened to it.

Speedtest to same server on 200/200 Vuma Aerial

And, now, total loss of connectivity. Back on Telkom LTE.
I am NOT IMPRESSED
Surprise, surprise... access to MEGA.NZ restored
Methinks I need to find myself a better ISP

Mine. Vuma aerial 200/200Mbps, wired, Windows 10...
