My Fibre still doesn’t work. LOS light flashing red on the ONT. Vuma Aerial Glenhazel. This is frustrating.

sigh now cisp closed my ticket even though my line with octotel is still terrible when international traffic is concerned.

Single threaded downloads are terrible.

I really don't mind waiting but why is it my job to try get any feedback when the ISP must deal with the fibre provider.

CISP's last reply to ticket (21/12/2018 (09:00))
My last reply trying to get feedback before ticket was closed (08/01/2019 (11:07))

I suspect Octotel's entire network is becoming congested and cisp are probably dealing with more and more Octotel complaints.

I'll run some tests later but I'm not expecting much since its a sunday. I'm curious to see if I can beat my own download record of 0.75mb.

At this point CISP should just stop supporting Octotel networks because it seems most Octotel users expect CISP to fix Octotel issues which is a shame to those Octotel users who understand its out of CISP hands.

If your line dont sync then phone Vumatel support. CISP have no special powers to sync your fibre ONT unit, something in your area or with your specific port must be screwed.

I've suggested to Paul twice that they drop Octotel, they're dragging down CI good name.

I’ll follow up with CISP tomorrow. They sent me a follow up email today asking if Vuma have contacted me yet, which they haven’t. So CISP will escalate to the Vuma support manager.

Yeah. Definitely octotels fault cisp aren't responding to tickets.

You're like a stuck record.

I have an agreement with Cool Ideas. They have an agreement with Octotel. It's not my job to resolve issues with Octotel. It isn't rocket science.

I agree that CISP should respond and thats definitely on them but on the flipside I am also aware of how redundant it starts to get as a support agent who knows it is out of their hands and all they can reply with over and over is "Waiting on Octotel to fix the issue"

The only solution regarding Octotel for CISP is to drop Octotel entirely. There is no hope in hell that Octotel will sort out their own mess.

You are always welcome to move to another ISP, experience the exact same issues with Octotel and probably get even fewer support responses. Getting quick responses or slow responses about an issue that no one but Octotel can resolve does not really change the fact that Octotel is entirely screwed.

So another ISP will respond less than zero times? Interesting.

I haven't had any response from Cool Ideas saying the issue is with Octotel. It's also not listed on their site as an issue.

Where's the open issue?

I agree they are not handling this well. I did however give you the explanation as to why you are having issues and that its a known Octotel issue. I cannot fix your problem except give you an answer as to where the problem lies.

I assumed you wanted to have this issue resolved thus I gave you the reason you are having issues and that CISP in no way can fix Octotel issues whether they replied 100x to your support tickets or zero times.

If someone here can please explain this to me. I use a vpn (expressvpn) for all banking and personal things on my laptop. I was watching earlier on another computer and things started buffering. I then took my laptop to do some work and decided to do a speedtest not realising the vpn is on. The speed is totally different when doing a speed test without the vpn. Why is that. Normally a vpn is slower, not so? Opera Snapshot_2019-01-20_201825_www.speedtest.net.png Opera Snapshot_2019-01-20_201640_www.speedtest.net.png
