The same issue is occuring locally. Not a international bandwidth capacity problem then surely.

I really am starting to get very upset by this.

How can we escalate this issue? Does Vumatel need to be contacted or is the problem within CISP?

PBCool I send you pm about sudden 50% ping increase from cpt to jhb, no response yet from you.

Used to be sitting flat 20ms up to 31ms now on the very first coolideas router it hits.

Please check pm or respond here basicly makes coolideas cpt to jhb fibre ping the highest of all other fibre isps for no good reason.

Our monitoring still shows around 20ms to CPT which is normal when did you drop the PM? Or just resend for me.

I am in Bellville, on Vumatel. I am also seeing the 31ms ping to cisp.co.za (154.0.13.95). Traceroute was run from my desktop which is connected to the router with a cable - not wireless.

Code:

This is a smoke ping to google.co.za - assuming it is up in Gauteng as well since the pings jumped to around 30ms on Friday.

Yup

This weird 10-11ms jump have happened intermittently few times before usually just lasting an hour or two. Since Friday its been on 10-11ms increase permanently thus my concern.

Well people only use the tools once you mention the respective tool to use. But either way is a good thing :)

Yeah our carrier has confirmed a break on the path, we are now following the east path until they repair the break.

Best to run an MTR and see where it's happening.

I ran a pingplotter from my PC that is connected through CAT7 straight to my router:

I keep getting this "loss burts" where my loss in game jumps to 15%, as I said it is better but still happening.
