@Phinix @MDE @image132 I've configured a squid proxy in Cape Town for you guys to try.

The host is trcprx01.cisp.co.za and the port is 3128. Please give it a go.

@MDE @image132 this might help in the short term as the proxy will relay your browser http and https connections and the TCP retransmission can be dealt with on a "Local" latency level rather than an international latency level.

Just google how to configure your browsers.
I don't want to talk to fast, need to test this in peak hours also, but so far this proxy seems to help with Twitch video playback..... I can watch/playback videos, ones it has buffered it plays fine and not the constant buffering I always get every few seconds......

Your PPPoE connection is up and I can ping your device from our side. The issue has been logged with Evotel and it's now up to them.
Hi, are you saying you guys are not willing to pick up the phone and phone Evotel to escalate? I'm just gonna have to sit and wait for 3 days without a connection until Evotel gets back to you? I pay Cool Ideas not Evotel for this service - please can you do something as I can't even check my emails or do a Google search.....

Every FNO has their procedures and systems for logging issues and we follow those. I cannot just "escalate" a single consumer line, we have to follow their process.

There is no general Evotel issue that we are aware of so they have to do their troubleshooting and investigations.

I realise you pay us not Evotel, but there isn't a magical "something I can do".

As serious as this is...I do see the ludicrousness side of it all... typical Octotel :)

You should see how they treat me on the ticket system bro... I am apparently no smarter than Mrs Jones, with her dry martini, standing outside after a rumpy pumpy session with a Ben 10

Octotel have acknowledged that there is a fault and are investigating this issue.
:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL: that was fast. Wish they'd do the same for the congestion issue. I guess the latter has to do with CAPEX and is therefore a sore point. Someone is demanding a new luxury sedan!

You need to check your expectations, CISP is a business and they sign SLAs with providers. They are contractually obliged to follow process.
CORRECT, and that SLA probably also dictates what kind of network performance shall be maintained, or am I being too optimistic?

What exactly would you like to do? Phone up the CEO of Evotel and demand they send someone to your house right this second?

If it were Openserve, or any other FNO I would have to follow exactly the same procedures. You've logged a ticket with us, we've logged it with Evotel.
