I cannot find anything else regarding the upcoming Vuma upgrades. Are there plans to put out a detailed announcement re Vuma upgrades in CPT?

The upgrades are pretty vague from the report to us, so not really something to post. The outlines are as follows:

"The above changes will also prepare the network for an active DWDM core. Deployment of this core will start during April and will cater for multiples of 100Gbps to be carried throughout the Cape Town network.

  • Please ensure that all configurations are completed by the 15th of April 2019."
So I suspect there are still quite a few changes outstanding, I will reach out to our AM for an update tomorrow.

Thank you for this! It at least feels better knowing that there is some sort of ongoing issue with Vuma CPT which they are in the process of resolving.
 
I want to migrate to Cool Ideas soon from c-fibre on Vuma. I have had enough of very bad latency some days and constant buffering when watching Twitch streams on some days.

I have had a look at their terms and conditions:

Does this mean when I cancel my fibre in order to change ISP that I will have to go through the whole thing again with waiting for a CPE device to be installed and pay for installation etc. !?

Feedback from CISP support was that international can not be guaranteed. So it is what it is ...
 
Regarding international we are going to try something tonight so please test again and let me know.

Ping and uploads speeds are much worse using the proxy but international speeds download speeds are much better. So who is to blame is this a line issue by FF or a routing issue by CI?

That seems very much like packet loss. I've prepared a probe and am ready to send it to you...

I joined Cool Ideas to get faster ping times to Brazil for Fortnite - but not happening yet! Still over 300ms.

Hopefully tonight's update will route this traffic over SACS.

I may have missed something but this was enabled at one point, but they were having issues with SACS traffic and switched back to their default routes. I know this because I enjoyed playing Apex Legends on their Sao Paulo server before they announced the change back to their default routing :(

Yup the routing was causing havok for them so they turned off the SACS route until they can get a pop built in Sao Paulo to manage the routing Themselves.

SACS will only go live once their DC is built in Fortaleza, ETA was this month but I suspect at least next month.
