No. Therodent made it sound like he had literally done the conference call to Octotel about it yesterday morning so its still early days.

The suspension with my line specifically is that there is congestion. Hopefully them looking into the are will fix yours too.

Yes finally some good news! :D

Did the maintenance Octotel were supposed to do in blouberg on the 11th fix your internet or are you still waiting for telkom on Thursday?
No change... we gave up on streaming last night- using LTE for what I need to do.
Telkom landline is supposed to go in tomorrow... last time (2012) I waited for them all day and they never pitched so I am hoping I don't have a repeat of that experience.

I see they started digging up the road from the other-side of the Sandown loop - I wonder who that is.

Anybody but Octotel... if you can find out who that is, I will then register interest for them to come to my place... I will remove Octofail's fugly box from the wall, they can put their's in its place.

I had the same thing happen here in Claremont a few months ago. Looked around on the coverage maps and found nothing. Now I see telkom are kicking everyone off copper and onto their "landline look alike" stuff so I'm thinking it might be Openserve, at least in my case.

OK!! I just survived a Stage 3 Load-shedding. New batteries in UPS I had connectivity all the time, Power just came back on and no issues.....

Another Load-shedding coming up from 20H00 - 22H30, ..... UPS batteries are charging.

Not so lucky, loadshedding kicked in, fiber died(even with UPS). Post loadshedding I managed to get line sync within 15mins, no IP assigned. 30mins later IP assigned however the following is my results. Same situation yesterday post loadshedding that only recovered around 2am. There is simply no way out for me during/after loadshedding, seems my area is just fkd no matter what.

EDIT: It is a miracle, seems to be fine now 1hr after load shedding. If this is the worse case during load shedding crappy period then I can live with it.

Mind sharing what UPS you have?

https://www.wootware.co.za/apc-bx1400ui-back-ups-230v-700watts-1400va-ups.html
Installed new batteries yesterday.

the only thing is, it runs for 15min at a time and then it turns off automatically. So I have to turn it back on. And I could not find anything in its software to force it to say on for longer than that without having the pc connected to the UPS via the usb cable, but that drains the UPS to fast, like within 49 minutes. But I am ok with that, small nuisance, I can keep my CPE and Wifi Router going and then work of the phone, ipad and laptop.

Thats the problem with some UPSs. They not meant for long run times. Inverters are meant for long run times.

My Little RCT's survives a 4HR load shed and they are only 1KVa each, one only carries the CPE though and the other one has a bit more load ( USG,8Port Switch & AP running over PoE, RaspberriPi with external USB drive connected )
