You see... I don't agree with this shaping policy on Home Capped! If I want to use all of my 90Gb tonight at 19:00 then i want to use it at full speed!

Problem is, you already agreed with it when signing up, as it is in the T's and C's - and so have I. But, as stated above, they can't really do too much about it, it's up to Telkom really.

Too. Little. Capacity.

They can deny it all they want. We had the same experience when Afrihost got more clients because of the existing users' good vibes, and they were voted number one, most notably on MyBB.

The sad truth, though, is that ISP's can't be blamed for 1. too damn high prices of capacity at which Telkom is selling it, and 2. overall lack of capacity available to begin with.

This all points back to Mr. Telkom, and there's not a damn thing we can do about it.
Don't think there's an overall lack of capacity. There certainly is a lack of ISP provisioned capacity though.

Crystalweb can be blamed cause one of their promises when they started was that they would never take on more clients then they have capacity for....

If you find me an ISP that purely works with capped accounts, with IPC capacity based off each accounts access speed (users connection), with no shaping - I will move forever.

Uncapped screws everything up, bring everything back to high cap accounts.

This wont happen though, uncapped is the bread winner because of the inability to provide a transparent system.

I beg to differ. This is the reason why they have to sell it at such high prices to ISP's - demand vs. supply ratio is out of whack.

I missed that part because I joined way after they started. But if true, it's a bit of a ridiculous statement for them to make in the first place.

I had that at Afrihost Business - downloads were fine most of the time, working at 100% line speed, even torrents, December 2014 being the notable exception. Streaming was heavily borked, though, and streaming being the main reason I have internet these days, it just wasn't good enough. Crystal Web is far superior in this area.

Ive been having issues on Crystalweb for a while (4 weeks). Im in Observatory, Cape Town.
General browsing seems fine, but Youtube is useless.
Youtube is the main reason that I have internet lately, so this sucks!

Which backs up what I have been saying all along....... Even other ISP Business profiles don't compare to CW's Business profile for streaming.

I am now off to slice a banana....

NNTP, general browsing and downloads seem to be taking a knock on my Premium account during daylight hours, then a sudden change is seen exactly 11pm to the minute where speeds improve across all protocols to line speeds (i.e. +/- 420kb/s on a 4mb line)

Youtube and Netflix are "ok" during the entire day, but certainly not what they used to be, i.e. Youtube defaulting to lower resolutions and Netflix failing to hit HD.

Oooooh, damn. CW home capped just got pwned by the new Openweb home capped packages. How now?

Unshaped permanently. Uncapped between 00:00 and 06:00. Package sizes differ but the prices are relatively the same I think, with the exception that CW is shaped all hours, and capped after hours.

This is pretty much what I have been asking for.

Can anybody confirm the experience?

Well what I'm seeing from the Openweb thread is similar to what I'm seeing in this thread. Some people with issues, some without issues.

Thought the Capped Fix was for everyone. When did it become a CPT only fix?

I'm pretty sure it will fix everyone's problem, however the majority of the problem accounts are localised in the south. So people just refer to it in that sense.

My steam downloads were terrible yesterday night...
Was able to download 500mb from 12:00 to 6:00 on my 2mb home premium uncapped account.

I'm in the South Cape area.

Paul or any other CW rep, what is the status of the miracle fix that is due today?
