When you upload at your line's maximum upload speed your connection quality will be substantially reduced. This has nothing to do with Crystal Web but rather ADSL technology itself. If you're using the full capacity of your line (upload or download) it will cause a degradation of all other services. This is irrespective of the ISP you use, and the type of data you are using. Happy to hear you came right though...

This is what I was getting at.

EDIT: Upload has a much bigger effect than download, eg: if I max my download, ping goes 100-200ms, max my upload and it goes up to 2000+ms.

How long before the performance drops due to all the new signups? :D

We are prepared for this in the event that bandwidth crunches a little. We already have upgrade plans in place that simply need to be actioned and we're monitoring the network like hawks on our side. There is a lead time with Telkom for this, which is why the capacity planning is on a forecasted basis, but there's equally no easy way to gauge what will be needed in which areas just yet. The good news about this is that we are implementing new changes which will see greater cost savings on our side over the coming months which we will also hopefully be able to pass on if we hit the scale we require for this...

Pre mbb survey I was getting 1/6 my line speed. Day of survey and henceforth it's download heaven. We not apes... don't waste your time with these dudes. Results rigged definatly.

clearly your the only one who thinks so :)

I tried but I just cannot take what you say seriously when your sentence structure is so poor :p

well done CW!

you should do an open house sometime and show the public how your operations run internally.

+1000

Why need VAS products when it runs at nearly 100% most of the time? And support from CrystalWeb is at a whole different level compared to most other ISP's.

Please feel free to PM me with your ADSL Username so that I can have a look at your account and see where the issue may be coming in - Definitely not being caused by our network as it has been running 100% for around 3 months now...

As if people will vote based on one days performance....

That's my experience with CW, and just expressing it, even if I am the only one. Not working for an ISP ... apologies for my poor English.

You should really take them up on that support offer. I had a problem before that my router opened two sessions at the same time, so CW systems halved my speed to 2meg instead of 4meg. This was sorted out quickly by support & I was up and running at full speed again.

Ok Keoma, you've had your fun. By all means, I await the outcome of you PMing DJ with your so called account and your 18 posts troll account.

Hey guys.
I'm considering switching to Crystal Web from Web Africa.
Not that my current ISP is giving me much trouble but I'm really curious about what all the hype is about with CW.
Anybody here (from Cape Town preferably) who has had to make the switch from WA to CW ?

Any noticeable improvements ?

I switched from WA capped to CW capped, the daytime/early evening performance is 1000% better. Used to be heavily shaped with WA during the day/evening but with CW I am getting line speed most or if not all of the time. Pings are around the same, have never really had ISP related ping issues with IS based accounts. NNTP is awesome, plus you get a really good free account from them.

Haha, log into your router and remove your Open Web credentials!
