Seems to be targeted at users of certain dynamic dns services from what I have heard.

Nope. Can confirm that's not the case here.

Once I have better confirmation in the coming days I'll post some detail, but it doesn't appear to be a DynDNS service that's been hacked, but rather something more malicious and not being detected...;)

Pitty I wonder if this is putting strain onto Telkom's infrastructure? I've noticed considerable more issues in the last week with different ISPs from friends in CT lately.

Perhaps, but Telkom are just buggering around in my personal opinion and there are far too many unfettered and unwarranted changes over the last while that are not having positive results...

Well, there is some problems. Random webpages failed to load intermittently. Streaming does not seemed to affected.

Even www.crystalweb.co.za give the message failed to load.
Swapped connection to Vox and problems go away

Have you tried switching DNS to Google temporarily? There have been some occasional DNS issues which appear to be what you're experiencing. Let me know. Also remember to flush the DNS resolver cache...

My account won't authenticate, did it get struck by the Lightning? ;)

Sorry DJ, but its something on the Crystalweb network.
Tried Google DNS on Linux and Windows.
On Crystalweb network : page failed to load/connection reset consistently. Nslookup does resolve the ip addresses of hostnames
On Vox : no problems ( I did not even restart/ flush dns when switching to Vox)

Update:
Everything is working suddenly. Will monitor and report back

Can you talk to support then to go through some proper diagnostics as I cannot replicate it on the network from any location whatsoever, and by forum this will take hours to go through the mechanisms and tests...

I spoke to support about authentication, apparently support systems are down?
Any auth problems associated with that?

DJ

I tried to connect to live chat but the page failed to load. Only way I had would have been through Vox and that means troubleshootings would have been worthless

Keep the modem switched off for about 20min and then switch back on. Should be sorted. Let me know if not...

Make sure to publish a white paper so you guys can get famous.

We heard to long about caps being depleted and isp blame the users.

It wouldn't be a state-owned entity in SA otherwise...

Gotta say though, I love that I only need to check in here every now and then to see if others have issues because I have none. And most issues are minor. The DDOS attacks aren't caused by Crystal Web either.

Me bad: I have been capped
Think I got hit by the DDOS on the 6th
10 239114
9 239095
8 196894
7 171408
6 23502
5 18858

Oh well, still have 500GB on Vox ( Not as good as CW, but beggars cant be choosers)

Did you guys manage to restore the data chowed by the DDOS yet?
If so, I think you might have missed mine.. still showing heavy usage from which I *assume* is the DDOS. It doesn't really fit my usual pattern.

If you suspect that your account was/is being affected by a DDoS attack, please send an email to [email protected] with your username and I will gladly assist you ;)

Never seen my 10 Mbps line at this speed:
