It's been ages since I last posted here or visited the MyBB forums.
Always awesome to see things haven't changed much. I'm still with CrystalWeb, the account performs as good as the day I got it.

Also noticed MyBB still supports OpenWeb and that Keoma still manages to catch an unsuspecting soul or two.

CrystalWeb is still the best ISP in SA - although I'm still waiting for that portal @DJ (another thing that didnt change :p)

The only thing that changed is that DJ was banned.....:(

Thanks Sin,

Sommer subscribed at the same time :D

PS: Nice run in D3 last night - your work bud joined us for a couple of runs afterwards (him, Werries and myself) - we hit two goblin packs in two consecutive rifts :D

He told me. And he found a gift.

How do you know so much internet stuff? Do you work at CW?

I have worked in the ISP industry before.
I also have regular contact with DJ, so I can pass on snippets of information every now and then.

So for the last week I have had terrible speed and latency issues with Crystal Web between about 9pm and midnight. Running a 4Mbps ADSL line with all the line stats in order and my home network being managed by a pfSense box. Put in a ticket a few nights ago and the first response I get is that my fibre line is getting DDOS'ed... and the tech support has not exactly bounced back from looking like they are completely incompetent. Tonight I finally reached the "its Telkom" stage of the ticket after I sent them this:

I moved from Afrihost to Crystal Web because of the way their tech support poorly handled customers during a rough patch about a year ago (they upgraded their network and borked the new firewall shaping rules) and now Crystal Web has started behaving the same way. Such a pity, the management showed such great promise...

Crystal Web: You get customers by making great offerings and getting a good reputation, you keep customers by earning that reputation when things inevitably go wrong. Looks like I will be in the market for a new ISP again.

No man, this forum really isn't what it was a year ago....
Dare I ask why he was banned?

I have no idea. I am to afraid to ask and get banned too

MickeyD did say something a couple of pages ago, but mmmm, ja...

How is the weather in Durban? It feels almost like summer here in Pretoria.:D

Nice subject change lol. We shall speak of it no more.

The weather's great down here, perfect tanning weather if you so inclined

Most definitely an Openserve issue... your connection is going to pot before it breaks out of the Openserve network.

Perhaps due to the Telkom sabotage?

On a side note, I wish it was possible to un-ban DJ only for this thread. His feedback was invaluable.

CW should start their own support forum - although, looking at the time the portal is taking to get up/improve, that may not be such a good idea.

Thanks CW for an amazing service that you guys have provided, due to budget constraints my cancellation has been put through. Really good ISP and will still recommend you guys to friends/family. :)

Any way to contact billing besides emailing info@cw ? (besides landline, currently down) Also does it normally longer than a day to hear back from CW? DSL Support was really efficient.

bit of a wild ping to the odd UK and USA servers ...... about 85% is ok, just a few bouncing around all over the place.
