On Afrihost I could have changed my own sync via their website. So I do not believe the blame to be with Telkom. Why is other ISPs not affected by this?

Why does CW not at least send an email to all the customers involved?

Because there's zero communication from Crystal Web. Unless you go to them, there's zero information, and if you do go to them you just get a short, canned response that doesn't actually answer any questions. It just says "trust us".

Crystal Web refuses to tell us what's going on, they refuse to tell us for how long it will be going on, they refuse to tell us what they will do to fix it besides sit on their arses, they refuse to tell us if we will be reimbursed for the lack of service.

Crystal Web, once again, refuses to take ANY responsibility for the situation. Just like the 3 times they "lost" their customer database and my info got plastered all over the internet, their only reply is "it's not our responsibility, it was some supplier".

Despite what Crystal Web claims, the problem seems to only have hit Crystal Web customers, and we only know this because of our own detective work. So either Crystal Web are clueless or they're lying to us, neither option is good for us.

Oh, and with the complete lack of information, I guess that my internet connection will be completely cut off on Saturday and I will have no internet connectivity for the weekend. Should I get another ISP to take over my ADSL line before then to be sure that I will be online this weekend? I don't know, Crystal Web refuses to tell me.

I could go on, but this situation is beyond ****ty no matter which angle you look at it.

Edit: Gotta LOL at this: Guess who is in the list of the 10 people who most recently looked at my profile page... CWSamurai! So Crystal Web are reading this thread, they just don't give a ****. Great.

Since Delta Juliet was banned the comms seems to have dried up completely. We had some interaction from the red for a day or three...and then nothing.

Have to wonder if things are just that busy over there that they can't find the time, or they just don't care about this platform anymore?

Don't get me wrong I'm happy as a clam as I don't have any problems at all...but the level of comms in the early days was truly refreshing. Now...not so much.

You don't know when CW looked at your profile though. Could have been a while ago.

It is troubling that communication has become nonexistent with CW. They were indeed phenomenal with this in months gone past. The banning of DJ was such a dick move from MyBB.

Well I have confirmation from an Openserve employee as well as reasonable proof from a Web Africa employee that Crystal Web has been using Web Africa to host their DSL lines for the past two years. The problem seems to come from Web Africa moving the lines to Crystal Web.

If you contact a Web Africa tech via phone and ask him to query line transfer status (without telling him you're with CW) he can somehow see the status on their system and give you information they should not have, but somehow do.

Maybe someone else can try it and double confirm this?

So this is getting more and more bizarre. I just got this SMS:

I haven't talked to Telkom in probably more than half a year, and I can only speculate as to what caused Telkom to think I had talked to them... But I'm guessing it's related to Crystal Web's latest screw-up.

Are your speeds back to normal?
 
IF their lines were with someone else, I'm sure nobody would care, so if this is the case, why are they lying about it? What is being hidden?

I find it slightly concerning that we're not getting an honest, direct response, like we used to with Shaun.

Wish he could be un-banned and given access to this thread only.

The whole thing gives me an OW vibe. I hope for our sake it doesn't play out exactly like that
