Given that I use a Mikrotik router box, and WiFi is taken care of by Ubiquiti Unifis, which modem would you recommend if/when I go Fibre?

My Zyxel SBG300-N worked well with fibre at my previous address, but has a woeful user interface.

Can fibre modems even be purchased? Or are you just looking for a new router?

Is the Crystal Web premium news server still available?

It seems that both news.crystalweb.co.za and news1.crystalweb.co.za point to the same server.

You don't need a modem.

Just stick to the Mikrotik.

Thanks.

I know nothing about how Fibre works on a practical level.

So I just plug the cable from the connection point on the wall into the Mikrotik and connect the way I currently do from the Mikrotik?

Och! This pure digital stuff is a game changer

Lol, feel so dumb now, modem is specifically to convert analogue to digital so with a pure digital feed it's not required.

Already did that on Tuesday and was told that they were still adding customers to the portal and I should expect an email.

(03:26:31 PM) Support Impi: They are still adding customer to the portal at the moment which could be why you have not received the mail

I'll hop on anyway and try out your suggestion

I have sent your request to management and they have told me that the portal is still in the beta phase and they are still sending out access credentials
from today (4:12PM)

Yup in theory you shouldn't need to even edit anything on the Mikrotik, especially if it's already making the PPPoE connection for you.

Should be as simple as moving the cable.

Lol.

The first one thas was already busy with the job.

But I did think I was being scammed/conned at one point.

You must have thought after all the issues, time taken to get sorted, this was a joke being played on you lol :D

Can anyone recommend a VPN service where you don't need software but instead do it from the router?
