The latest figures from the IDC show that the tablet market has shrunk from Q3 2015 to Q3 2016. Do you use a tablet regularly, and do you think tablets have a place in the tech market?

yes,
There is a place in the market.
can be used for testing
also email and web browsing.
games, really only a few play tablet games, though in most case (I've seen), it is parents with young kids that often have the most games on their tablets.

invoicing while at a client is also easier on a tablet than on a phone.

I have stopped to use my iPad a year or two ago. Gave it away this year.

At home I use a laptop, and at work I dock the same laptop. Just no need for a tablet.

iPad has been lying in cupboard for quite a while now. Use laptop at home and desktop at work.

Use phone for browsing Reddit, MyBB and Pinterest in bed or when not close to computers.

But think the iPad will be used within the next year or so for quite a while to keep daughter occupied during long drives. Also for some educational apps and games for her.

the waiters at the spur in Sea point now use tablets to take orders. definitely seemed to improved efficiency and reduce errors.

Definitely a step in the right direction if they link it up to the billing and stock systems.

Yup - read books, monitor my camera's, play the occasional game, listen to music while i work out (connected to speakers ofcourse), check email/lookup stuff when talking on mobile, control kodi from the couch (my kids think it's magic!), etc

lots of mobile consumption uses for which the phone screen is just too small.

At home desktop/laptop
Away from home smart phone

Galaxy Tab hasn't been turned on for about 9 months.
Lenovo Idea Pad A10 used to assist in running my streaming etc but always at home.

I use my Ipad for watching plex and netflix, some games but not much else.

I do use it, but I dont think I will ever buy another one to replace it when its gone.

I would dearly love a Surface tho, I think I may get the littlest one next year.

Use tablet mostly for watching stuff in bed at night or using apps my crappy phone won't support (Tinder, Instagram, any game ever). Books and music when I'm not home too. In a pinch, it becomes a big ass flash drive too :P

My college is giving us another one for 2017. Going to have 2 and no idea what to do with them.

No but I am planning to get one next year.

I use my 17.3 laptop at home and when out of country (my desktop is now used by my wife and daughter).

I want the tablet for all those mind numbing hours spent travelling (hotels, motels, holiday inns).

Nope.

Prefer to watch movies on a TV and do work where I have a full size keyboard. Not much left to do a tablet imho.

I use my tablet as a reader.

Shkuld just have gotten a reader in the first place.

I have 2 x 10" tablets and use both of them every day. Couldn't live without them actually.

I've got a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, does everything and is more compact than a tablet.
