I'm no kid at 60 years old, and I use mine daily. Firstly as my broadband wifi hotspot for phone and pc to connect to. For games, apps and web browsing which are just too small on a phone. And on the odd occasion to edit and FTP code to webservers when visiting clients. I even run PHP and mySQL on it.

After I got a thin and light laptop, not much anymore...on the loo sometimes :p. But even then it's easier to just take my phone with since it's already on and handy.

Chances are sales have dropped because advances in hardware and the requirements of hardware in newly releasing apps is slowing down some. Why replace a tablet from as much as 4 years ago which still does virtually everything you want/need it to?
In comparison, phones are constantly being replaced. In no small part because people keep managing to break them in the most spectacularly failtastic ways.

Negative, a tablet has never been my choice ever since. Firstly, its the size which I find irritating, secondly, the camera quality which is very poor. It has a slight market.

YES

For reading EBOOKS definately.
Generally seems to carry out all the functions that an IPAD was designed to do at a fraction of the cost.

When I purchased my iPad a few years ago, and then upgraded as well, I thought it would replace my PC. I find now that I use it to look at web pages and now only use it about 5% a day. It is now hardly used! Prefer my iPhone 6S Plus.

It's convenient for certain tasks but does not compete with a surface book or small similar high power laptop.

Every day when I'm at home. Using one right now!

The drop in sales in my opinion is due to the the fact most people already got them. My tablet still works 100% after almost 4 years there is no need for me to upgrade the tablet.

Yes. Mostly for reading the newspaper early morning in bed and then e-books and one magazine.

This.

Also I'm sticking with a proper spen until someone makes something that competes.

That said, this note 10.1 2014 is still a beast in terms of processing power, no need really to change. In fact my wife is still using the original note 10.1 and has no issues.

Not as yet, seem to use my laptop where most would use a tablet. But it does get a bit hot and being so close to my nuts I do worry about any long term damage  I think a tablet might be better - and could be part of a sales slogan "Your nuts will appreciate a tablet".
