DStv prices hiked up again

The DSTV execs should be directed to this thread. Any MyBB members working for DSTV looking at this!!!

Mark my words no one is going to cancel! We all b1tch and moan and couch up anyway!

You bet, I rejoined in December after 3 years without, bought a new PVR watched some HD content and already cancelled again.

To many repeats, After a short while you had to search for new and original content, the family was so used to not having DSTV they were not phased by it. Videos and Series is better and more updated via the internet.

this whole repeats arguement is nonsense. there is only a finite amount of quality content out there.

repeats on tv happens EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD

I mean **** me, on sky every channel has a +1 hour equivilent of the same channel

Soothe your own mind. Believe whatever you like. To have so many repeats in such a limited channel selection is just bl@@dy crazy. It means that DSTV are not prepared to buy new content. You cannot compare with other providers that's got hundreds of channels.

The ANC's justification moto?

And I am sure that everywhere else is paying the same / equivalent expensive DSTV subscription fee that we are.

It is all very 1st world this cost and service and repeats... all for the same expensive price I am sure too R590 / dollars /pounds / francs etc. There is absolutely no difference I am sure between what DSTV charges and provides and all those other overseas services.

/right

I've been boycotting DSTV and M-Net ever since it was released.

... Mainly because I couldn't afford it.

But still, I can think of better things to do with R590 per month.
(Like getting myself 59 R10 notes and wiping my arse with them) :D

There are no repeats on my TV... in fact... I can't even watch everything I want to, there is just way too much!

I lived in UK for 2 years, and had sky, so I dont need to believe anything, it is fact.

so you are of the opinion, that these providers, that have say 50 channels, are showing 1200 hours of unique, quality content, per day for 365 days a year every year??
soothe your own mind and believe what you want, but you are deluded

How much did you pay for Sky every month?

about 30 pounds. add premier sports, like Premier League football, and this can reach like 40-45 pounds
now saying "see they pay R350 a month, while we pay R600, we are getting ripped a new one" is an invalid arguement, because of economies of scale. sky probably has 10x the customers that dstv has

Rather say monopolies of scale where the ANC goons are the main benefactors, the I would believe some of the comments you make.

sorry, maybe I am missing something, but what does the ANC have to do with multichoice, and the cost of content? not everything is a government conspiracy :)
