Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

10mbit, I dont know if its been actioned as there was a waiting/notice period

Upon further investigation, it appears RocketNet has gone ahead and cancelled your line. The reason why you are still online is because the ONT still needs to be collected from your home. Once this is completed, your line will be cancelled. Your ISP needs to open up a new account for you to avoid losing connectivity.

Hi Frogfoot Rep Please send us the call reference number where this information is available? We are currently investigating to help get to the bottom of this as RocketNet won't just cancel a customer's link.

Client was cancelled according to our database effective 30 January 2020. We do not have the power to cancel accounts as this requires a cancellation request from the ISP side. FRG678834-PLZ-B1

It seems somehow someone never receaved cancel of cancellation, is this a manual process ?

@RocketNet-Rep can you advise on this????
Morning Leno, trust all is still well. Apologies for this. As per telephonic discussion this morning, we can confirm that we did revoke the cancellation on our FF Portal. Seems what has happened here was due due system issue or change or something that caused this.

I can confirm that we are working with FF to get this matter resolved.

You have confirmed that currently your service is still working.

Thank you for your patience.

Warmest regards,

Rocketnet Support

Anyone else in Walmer down?

Edit: still down and the broadband & service lights are off on the ONT for some reason.

Not sure if this is isolated to me but I finally got through to my ISP and they logged a fault 1 hour into downtime, tried FF phone in support again a few minutes after it went down and they said their new policy is to only help ISP representatives

My FF line is still down this morning, see this notice for Lorraine appeared earlier this morning but I doubt my service in Walmer is routed through Lorraine:

In Progress - Lorraine-olt-1 | Line card 11 | GPON 7 | Outage

Will be interesting if you are. Then you need to watch out for Lorraine and Walmer outages :p

No issues in Newton Park

Seems like the Walmer fault is separate, still off (since 4pm yesterday). Only Vox has posted a tweet saying that Walmer has an issue, nothing showing on the FF or AH status page. Vox said FF engineers are still investigating.

Edit: FF finally show the outage on their status page

@Frogfoot Fibre 3rd day of no internet (downtime began 3 March 3:58pm), do you perhaps have updates as to why Walmer is so vulnerable to outages still and why this outage has lasted so long? I thought the redundant link installed last year was supposed to fix most issues?

Hi Josh Sparkie, could you please respond to our inbox message dated 16 January. We need your details to investigate your current issues.

Walmer residents: Please note the current Walmer outage is due to the municipality removing a large tree and damaging our cables with their excavation equipment. Our team is urgently repairing the damage.
