Man, going to USA is expensive as it is and they seem expect tips everywhere and not really seem happy even after 10% tip.
I've just got back from two months there and it's next level. Many fast food places have guilt tip screens on their machines (like the one below) but you can circumvent that nonsense by paying cash, or by just hitting no tip...

I am happy with all kinds of automation such as this where you punch in your own tip or not.

But cabbies. Our first experience was on our first day in DC when we took a cab for short distance from station to nearby motel. It was 10+ years ago and bill was just about 8 dollars so I rounded and gave him 10 dollars. I thought it was decent. Guy argued with me for few minutes saying it was not enough and I really have no idea what the expectation was and I didn't ask as I was annoyed already by then. I just ignored him after trying to reason for a minute or two. I wouldn't say he was abusive but he was certainly a loud character. I don't know if this is common experience. I hope not.

After that, we managed to avoid cabs by relying on public transport as much as we can after that.

Everyone must stop tipping.

Let the waiters find a new job were they don't need to rely on tips.

The restaurants will close.

A new restaurant, one that understands the need to pay their staff should open in its place.

No more tipping.

Enjoy.

🤡 "Don't be angry at the business for not paying their workers, it's the customer that's at fault!" 🤡
If they had to pay their workers more (which I agree with), they would need to charge more on their menu pricing. I'm paying either way, so I don't mind.
But the restaurant doesn't currently have a fixed overhead for this cost, so they take advantage. And the servers need the income, so they keep doing it. And I don't mind tipping so they can feed their kids.
