Yep ~400kbps is my norm these days ... 800-1024 is a distant memory from a bygone era {violins playing in the backround}.

Morning Guys & Gals

I apologise if you believe I was absent too long from the forum.
A long list of queries was created on this thread as well as on my e-mail.

I am still awating clear answers on the following.....
Gmail issues
International secure sites speeds
Reported general downshift in speeds
New occurences of Disco Lighting

Death By Cap - This occurs to a very small percentage of users. If you find that once reaching your cap there is nothing you can do with it please call the helpdesk and go through to a second level field technician. There is a fix for it.

Network Cable Unplugged on the virtual network connection when connected via USB. This is caused by a power surge/drop on the circuit which is being used to power the iBurst device. It has been found that the surges/drops come from faulty/incorrectly earthed appliances e.g. fridge, electric fencing, alarm systems that are plugged into the same outlet as the iBurst.

As soon as I become correctly informed on the issues not as yet addressed I will be back and post them.

May the force be with you......

Poor service from iBurst - mostly re accounting/billing is also a recurring issue for your list.

yeah I've been getting disco lighting since saturday... but moving my modem to a different location seemed to solve that problem.

I had this problem too. Went outside to check the box. It was 5 green LED's one moment, a red spot the next. Kept doing it over and over. Hyde Park BS was clearly not functional at all on Monday. Could not find it on utTraceStar, yet on the Iburst network_status page it was a lovely bright green, all systems go. Why the heck was that???!!!

So I was connected to Randburg, which nowdays is extremely overloaded. My ping times were just horrible.

I can just the imagine the drivel I would have had to listen to if I'd phoned the helpdesk.

Fortunately, everything came right again yesterday, Hyde Park BS is back, and my connection rocks again.

Once more, a big thank you to Seburn for providing REAL IBURST SUPPORT in the form of utTraceStar. Brilliant!

thanks Shaun i appreciate you coming back with feedback.

Hey shaun, I was looking at all the updates on the Iburst site and checked out the new coverage maps. I clicked on "planned coverage" and was pretty amped to notice that a new tower is planned around the constantia are in Cape Town. It will serve me much better than my current tower, however I am wondering just how long these planned towers are planned for?

Are they planned for years into the future or are they the new towers promised to be coming every week?

Also about this changing to a new tower thing. Will my current WBS standard antenna be fine even though its not really aimed at the new tower? They are supposed to not be very direction sensitive right? The new tower will be just to the righ of where my antenna is currently positioned, problem is that it is fixed pretty well to my wall and im not shure if I will be able to move it... will this be a problem when changing to a new tower?

What is it you would like to know?I will attempt to assist you till all the resources at my disposal are exhausted.

Are you signed up directly with WBS *iBurst Group*?

BroadbandICTholdings, please refrain from directly advertising your "services" or projecting an image of your company. The way to do that would be to provide actual help, instead of being "seemingly helpful". If you are interested in a commercial message RPM will gladly sell you one of the banner advertisements on the site.

Whilst we encourage vendors, and companies to officially represent in these forums, a measure of proffesionalism is expected, and is portrayed by most other corporate entitities representing here.

A "hi guys, still awaiting answers" now and then wouldn't take much time of his hands or am I askin to much??

Missing me? Its good to see you back, customer services to its best.

Good luck,

Morning all.....

The issue with gmail seem to have been resolved. It was a problem on an upstream provider which iBurst had no control over. It appears that this was also the influencing factor for the incoming mail speeds encountered by certain non-iBurst pop servers.

May the force be with you
