I like it. New watch is cool, too. But, haven’t even had the 13 Pro or Watch 7 for a year yet, so will wait for the new design and tech to mature a bit more before I pick up the 15 Pro and Watch 9 when my 2-year upgrade cycle rolls around.

Would love the 14 Pro but I think I can push out another year on my 12 Pro.

My battery health is on 90% and I have enough storage with the 256GB

I think the upgrade next year would be more significant, with the rumours of a change in port I'm definitely keen.


Or maybe I'll just buy it when I'm in Abu Dhabi / Australia in Nov

Most interesting thing for me this year is the Apple Watch Ultra. It looks pretty good, but it also looks very capable for a daily.

Will likely get the 14 Pro when it's available. They were offering R11,500 for my 11 Pro - that's probably less now but still. Could maybe grab me a new watch with the trade in.

Do you think the esim only restriction for US will cause any issues for us if we purchase one from the US?

Hopefully it will incentivise our carriers to get off their asses and drip the additional fees etc

I like how they implemented AOD - dimming the entire display and lock screen like that, also 2000 nits peak brightness, pretty nits nuts!

Makes sense going 14 coming from 11. 13 to 14 changes look most incremental.

The naming inconsistency bugs me

iPhone 14 - Base phone, normal sized
iPhone 14 Plus - Base phone, bigger size
iPhone 14 Pro - Flagship phone, normal sized
iPhone 14 Pro Max - Flagship phone, bigger size

Why not call it the iPhone 14 Pro Plus? Or call the smaller one the iPhone 14 Max?

I'm guessing it's easier to reference: 14, Plus, Pro, Max. Any repetition and you'll have to clarify which one you referring to.
