Thank goodness we are getting the SIM tray

With an e-SIM for travel
I used the e-SIM signup in the UK are Ireland recently.
Worked like a charm

Still got my banking smses etc but virtually all traffic on the e-SIM

Interesting. Can you select which SIM gets used for outbound SMSes/calls?

The way I have used it is to use eSim for data and SIM for calls and SMSes

You can send your calls down the eSIM. I didnt try the outgoing SMSes

I used BreatheSIM (there is an App) which seems to cover the world
The app is easy to work and you can pre load it before you leave.
You load a eSIM for your destination (which can be Europe)

There may be cheaper but I found it was good value... and most important it worked well

Nah when you transfer devices, it transfers over
In SA? When I tried to move it from 12PM to 13PM, then it failed, I had to get a new QR code, I assume the process would be the same with the move to 14PM.

Actually just got back from talking to a guy at the MTN store in my building and he said I should be on the new system which allows for Corporate eSIM's. He is going to check for me when the power comes back and then get back to me.

Yep. Did so on my XR to 12 Pro.

Will try again maybe when I get the 14

The only question I have now is 14 Pro or Pro Max, I'm tempted with the PM but I just fkn know I'm gonna get tired of that size...
Let's be honest, most of us can do with an extra 1/2"

Flipside is you're always gonna wonder if you shouldn't have gone for the bigger one

 true!

I’m going to try and get the PM, can always trade it if it becomes an issue! Coming from a mini…going to be somewhat of an adjustment lol

I’ve been running the PM’s for 12 and 13 now, in dbrand cases and I certainly don‘t feel I have an iPad in my pocket. One hand typing is a bit more of a challenge though

Picked the 11 Pro Max when I upgraded from the X and I also wasn't sure about the bigger phone... Now I catch myself looking at it and thinking 'why is it so small?'

Won't take long to adjust and it's very likely you'll never be able to go back to a smaller phone again.

Curious to see how that feature isn't going to kill battery life. Android devices use a few pixels just for the clock and seem to use about 1% an hour.

Obviously the iPhone has way more efficient hardware but a screen is still a screen and having more pixels = more power used.

So on this topic, this reviewer found that the 14 PM battery dropped a mere 5% after 24hrs of AOD being active, very impressive imo:

I am wondering if they made sure it was always on though as it goes off under some circumstances.

I am now of the opinion this artificial one week wait between ordering and delivery is extremely tedious and irritating.

Back in the day it was because the phones were still in China on ordering day and you could track them across the globe as they travelled, nowadays they were already sitting in a warehouse in country on ordering day...
