ITNT Capped DSL Feedback

Unless I paid no attention the 1st time around, their whole website seems to have changed.

Looking a lot better! :D

Just signed up with the 10GB package. Local looks good, but did a speed test to Maidenhead UK. Ping 186ms and DL 4Mbps on my 10Mbps line. Switched back to Vox and ping to same servers are 165ms and 8.8Mbps. Not impressed.

^^ Well, much better than Afrihost 200GB capped 10Mbs

Hmm, interesting.

I checked my Vox account in LoL and my ping was higher than usual, although not bad. Checked ITNT and it was a few ms lower, checked my WA account - it seemed great although then it suddenly shot up by 40/50ms. o.0

All are using IS bandwidth, hmm... Grrr.

Overseas latency is unfortunately the one area where you can't always get away with cheap data.

My international speeds are very respectable.

Pretty much the same on my Vox account.

Not for a 40Mbps adsl line though....

I want to confirm what you said. Their TopUp option seems flawed unless they are intentionally limiting it to 200GB per customer per line?

You can go to a max of 200GB data and you can't just buy another account because it seems that its locked to 1 line. Trying to buy another account with the same number also fails.

I had a 25GB account which I topped up to the 200GB account but only allowed to get 175GB [25GB initally and the 175GB topup]. Now when I click on the topup option there is no option to topup just you current package is 200GB with no other options.

So the catch is revealed

I don't think that really qualify as a catch. A catch is often if you are say sold a uncapped account then throttled down to half line speed @ 50GB usage. That is more of a catch.

This is more of a limit I think. 200GB for R200 make no mistake its a steal but would have loved to see them do something else unless they have a reason for limiting it to 200GB

Hardly a catch... They are stopping you from BUYING more bandwidth.

So my ping in LoL is fine, earlier I think someone was just downloading something on my line.

EDIT: Cavedog, perhaps drop them a message and see what they have to say about the 200GB limit?

This is a single threaded test with testmy.net, not going to see much better than that no matter how fast your line is.

Regarding the top-ups I also saw that, was confused as hell trying to figure out what was going on there. Their system is very non-intuitive, you select a bigger package and then it minuses your currently used data off that.

Yeah I think special is like the Sparletta 2l selling at Checkers. Only 6 per customer. I think ITNT is doing the same here. I actually expected it because 1TB data would cost only R1000 which is just too cheap to be true.

Here is what my topup section looks like now. :(
