I know, but you can hook up a dstv decoder (that isn't capable of receiving a tv signal) to a plasma/lcd display that doesnt have a tuner (and therefore also isn't capable of receiving a tv signal)

Seems like I'll have to. The ones without are just too expensive, I guess because they aren't "consumer" items.

Bought the Samsung PS42C430A1 42" Plasma TV from Game , upgraded my cellphone contract at the same time (got R3200 voucher ) , only paid R 2600.00 !! :)

Well done and enjoy many hours watching your new cool TV. Just find time for the family though.
 
Also got that Samsung 42". Along with extra 3yr warranty and tv license... about 6600 in total.

As soon as I can find that Sammy 50" plasma for +- R7500 its MINE :D

Edit: I just saw Cats have the PS50C430 for R8499, now if I go to Game that should technically beat the price by 10% correct?

That would bring it to R7650 which is just what I am looking for, unless I am wrong on that calculation.

10% of the difference in price. Just do it bud! If these TVs became any cheaper it'd be like robbing Samsung!

Pleasure! This sub-forum needed a resident plasma fanboi. :D Was seriously one way traffic a while back! With the usual "plasma's life sucks", "plasma uses much more electricity", "static images will burn in to plasma". Sure, maybe that was the case 3+ years ago. Now it's simply not the case, as many people are starting to realise.

By the way, what you using your TV for?

Ah okay, so you couldn't squeeze a discount out of Game then (price matched and further discount of 10% of difference in price) unless you can get Cats to better their price.

I might just try that, assuming Game have the C450 that is.

Is that a decent price for the C450?
