LCD and Plasma Bargains

A small price to pay for better picture quality. ;)

I don't even have to worry about image retention and running the image sweeper. After my break-in phase, I now use my plasma just like I would use a LCD - with better image quality. :D

The way I look at it :

Plasma = Race car
LCD = Daily Driver

Racecar needs to be maintained
Daily driver - not so much

Racecar - Puts a smile on your face when u throttle it :D
Daily driver - Gets u from point A to B - YAY :erm:

Anyway each to his own...

Hi Guys,
Finally made my choice between the Hisense 40 LED and the Sony 40ex400 LCD.....I chose the PS50C430 Samaung plasma....lol
Got it on Friday and am over the moon with the picture quality and the size.
Just wanted to know what settings I should use eg. cantrast, brightness etc.
The quality of FiFA10 and Midnight club is excellent, although I do get a little image retention of my NOS Bar in Midnight Club, it does go away after about 5 mins of watching normal TV. Is this normal ?
All in all, I am absolutely thrilled with this screen so far.
The size looked average on the display stand in Game, but once I set it up at home....its GOLIATH

Thanks to every1 for their help and advise esp Postmanpot.

Good choice dude, enjoy the set :)

Loving my TV, but dam that Cbeebies logo sticks around on the screen far longer than I would like :eek:

Its the only logo that does this, or at least is noticeable.

I never broke in my plasma. had IR initially but cant notice it now. Also upgraded my firmware as soon as it was available. It made the media center a lot more stable.

Nice, been reading a lot of forums and articles that state plasma break in is a thing of the past and is not really necessary.

O well, I am about 40 hours into my break in, may as well take it to 100.

In fact I know a few ppl that never broke theirs in, they didn't even know that they should have.

LCD *spits* :D

In fact watch the classifieds section today chaps, my 40C530 is being replaced so will be selling it, more than happy with my plasma.

Just a heads up. Game has ellies 1.5 hdmi cable for 90. They normally 180. Just picked mine up.

just paid R35 for my 1.5m HDMI cable.
from a place in midrand called square one.

Sounds a bit pricey to be honest. These Aavara HDMI cables go for about R100 and they're 2m, gold-tipped, and nylon-webbed. ;)

Those are the only cables I use for HDMI, I have 4 in my system. Only bugger is I actually only needed 3 x 1/2 meter and 1 x 1.5. There are a lot of loose cables behind my TV stand

Your lounge, if you're buying from Makro you can return in 7 days money back no questions. A mate of mine went through 4 or 5 TV's that way before he decided to keep one.

That's why I love Makro, if you're going to do it make sure with the salesman before though just in case.
