Trying to get my 3G to work with my Blackberry Bold on Mac, anyone had any luck?

Doesnt the Blackberry come with a Mac data suite? Was thinking of getting a Blackberry next.

Had the same issue with my SE P1...also no Mac suite. The only way I can connect is via a bluetooth connection...which is not that stable as the P1 randomly shuts down. If you with Voda, call them on 155. They helped me set up the connection.

Basically go System Prefs > Network. Pair the Mac and phone to create the bluetooth connection. The click Advanced at the bottom left corner of the Network settings screen. Just need to enter the settings under Modem...Select Vendor and Model. APN is internet for Vodacom, CID is 2 on my set up. To connect, click connect on the Network screen, or via the Dashboard if you using the iStat widget. Try this...otherwise check with your SP or with Blackberry support.

vodacom Huawei k3520 and Snow Leopard

Hey guys,

After upgrading my mac to Snow Leopard when I try to open Mobile Connect, it just says that the application quit unexpectedly and gives me the option to ignore, report or relaunch. If I relaunch, it does the same thing.

Anyone else having these issues?

Thanks

got a novatel MC950D and when i try connect it using that vodafone app (latest version) it says the sim i have inserted is not a vodafone partner sim, please try a different sim. Tried 3 vodacom sims, same issue. Any thoughts ? Running Snow Leopard.

Just my 2 cents but have you tried updating to 10.6.2? I don't recall anything in the patch notes relating to this but hey, you never know...

on 10.6.2 still not working. Wasn't working on 10.6.1. I can connect using the dialer in the OS, but the vodafone app is screwed. Dunno wtf.

anyone gotten this to work yet? so love my mac but damn, i wish sometimes more companies would be less lazy about them...

You actually looking for help or just getting your post count up for the WebAfrica special?

I use 3G on my iMac, using a Huawei K3715 usb modem. Just bought a new iMac and installed the latest Vodacom trusted version of VMC (3.04.10) onto machine. Worked fine (except for the usual logging off/loss of reception!!!!), then created a new user-profile for my wife. When I went into her profile it asked to install the same VMC software again, so I did (on her new profile). Since then neither my profile or hers works with 3G internet!

Not sure what to do now. I've uninstalled and re-installed about 5 times and no luck. Noticed that in Network options it doesn't have a Huawei modem script/driver or the K3715. Is that right?

Hating using this usb modem on mac!

This is gonna sound odd, but run the uninstall a few times (IE dont install, just run uninstall, reboot, repeat x 2)
then install, the modem should appear

Apple Mac and Vodafone Hauwei K3765

Hi,

I have installed the Hauwei K3765 on a Apple Mac Book Pro without a glitch, works wonderfully. However I take that same Hauwei K3765 dongle and plug it into an iMac desktop and install the software off the dongle, but when running the application it doesn't detect the device.

Some history here is that the iMac desktop has a previous Hauwei (think the E220) on it and that worked, but now nothing with the new Hauwei K3765.

The Apple Mac Book Pro however also had the E220 installed prior to the Hauwei K3765... and it works fine. So not much logic there!

Had this been Windows I would have tried to delete any reference to the Hauwei devices in control panel - what approach would I use on Apple?

Any help/suggestions?

PC Guy
