Mind the speed ISP

Anyone on MTS and using the standard Zyxel modem have issues where you lose connection ( no throughput) for like 2-5 mins and than everything connects again after this?

Been happening quite often on my side and it’s becoming an issue.

Mostly wifi across laptops and phones.
Happened when watching Netflix andriod box connected via cable to the modem.

Called their support center a few times but they see no drops on their end as well as on Openserve.
Could be the modem?

Yep, had exactly the same issues with the Zyxel they provided.
Bought different router and that sorted out my wifi problems.

Not a fan of the Zyxel at all.

Openserve Fiber not Released by MTS

Is there anybody that can assist me to get my Openserve fibre released by Mind the Speed ISP?

My contract with MTS terminated on 31 March 2021, but today on the 6 April, my fibre is still linked to MTS, instead of being in the Openserve Holding Pool where a new ISP can link to my fibre to provide an Internet service.

I'm considering moving from Afrihost to MTS (Metrofibre), and bump the speed...

Currently on a 50MB pure Fibre package at R1127 per month and noted that MTS can provide a 100MB package on Metrofibre at R1190 compared to Afrihost at R1419.

Is MTS any good, I see some negative posts regarding speed, consistency etc...

So the big question is are everybody happy at Mind The Speed at the moment?

Yup, And my line got upgraded now to 200mb with a price decrease

Also happy, There has been a few outages of recent but been with them for the past year and safe to say it was only two interruptions.

Only been with them just over three weeks but happy so far.. Customer service is good as well so far.. Friend is moving over to them end May from Rocketnet

So I'm currently with Cool ideas and have decided to change ISP to Mind the speed.

Anyone who's with them care to share their experience? I'm yet to see any proper negative reviews on them... Their pricing is definitely better than cool ideas on openserve, especially now with their re-rates taking effect in March.

Mind the speed service response is amazing... plus they dont make you do all the dirty work when it comes to issues.. I would 100% recommend them.

I've been having latency issues with Mind The Speed on Metrofibre recently. Their support is not what it used to be. Hopefully they'll we be able to fix it since it's been an issue for a few days.

I just had to cancel my fibre with MTS due to us moving.

Got this within 30 min of sending them a mail to cancel my line

Thank you for the email,

Kindly note that should you wish to cancel the service we will require a 1 month notice for cancellation, thus meaning that if we process the cancellation now the cancellation will be for the 30 June 2021

There will be a cancellation fee of R 1725.00 which we will invoice as we did a free installation and should you cancel within the first 12 months the activation fee will be charged.

The router needs to returned back to MTS.

If I may ask is there any specific reason for the cancellation?

Please advise if I should still proceed with the cancellation?

Yea I know but I have tried to cancel a line with Axxess before and that was a nightmare

I've just joined MTS and when logging in to check statistics I see that there are multiple disconnects the last few days. Is this normal? Using a 100/50 Openserve line with my own router

Normal, that is why I opt to always pay for my installation so they can't do this to me. Installs usually between 2k-3k
