I'm on a 384kb line and YouTube videos have been extra-slow lately too (yes I know they are slow to begin with lol)

Hi Spooner,

Would you mind dropping me a PM with your MWEB account details.
I'd like to look into this for you from my side. :)

Regards,
MWEB Guy

So here we go again, earlier today though ....... exact same issue. It righted itself at about 9pm last night - again I must say that it is not just me so powering down of routers, etc, does nothing.

Onto today, up until about 5 minutes ago, everything was hunky dory (36 ping on iGame) and now it's doing the same 60-90 spikes. And again, it's a spread of people it's happening to. Please can it be looked into and determined who/what is to blame for this?

*Edit* - It doesn't seem to be an Mweb issue today ..... switched to an Afrihost account and got 115 ping, then switched to an Imaginet account and got 90 ping. So it seems the problem lies elsewhere.

Hi Mephisto

That sounds like a slight case of congestion at the DSLAM, or exchange level. We can try and escalate this for you, but considering that it's staying below 100ms you should prepare yourself for the fact that we might not be able to get Telkom to do anything about it.

mmm some really bad stats, weird modem only sync 1.8mb, where your line attnuation show should be able to get 4mb, did you try another router? your snr is also very low, i normally work as 12 as decent line where you are at 10

Our SEACOM international links have gone down and all traffic will be routed via our SAT3 links. P2P will be de-prioritised until the issue has been resolved.

Kind regards

Is there a local SEACOM status page? If we don't have international connectivity, how can we check if SEACOM is the problem?

Hi All,

The SEACOM links have been restored, our engineers are monitoring the network.

I have the Mweb uncapped 4MB package and for the last 2 months I've been getting a connection speed of 650kbps whereas previously it was 3000kbps at minimum. Mweb have escalated the fault for the last 3 months but nothing has changed. Two weeks ago my connection dropped and I have no internet access. Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so did you manage to resolve it and how? No one at Mweb seems to care about resolving the problem, and Telkom are as useless as ever, as I type this I've been holding for 35min to report the fault to them. Unbelievable...
