Yeah I know. It's more to do with general p2p throttling though.

I haven't been able to use my line for torrent for quite a few months now. I think it's around '10 Dec or '11 Jan that the torrent speed dropped below 20kbps.

And No, I've tried different various other trackers and seeders. Nada, all other torrents are equally slow.

Any ideas how I can bypass the p2p throttle?
 
make sure settings is correct aka, add more connection etc in utorrent.

hope you checking speeds after 12am and not during day.

It's not a good idea to bypass it even though anyone can do it,your account will get closed as soon as Mweb smells something fishy.

Torrents are the most shaped by Mweb so unless you download after 1AM every night your speeds are going to suck.you can also manually look up trackers for some torrents so that they download faster.
 
666 ping to England Battleping EU server. I mean seriously? What is going on ??? I cant do anything. What is the problem?

Its all fine and dandy to say there is a problem, but what exactly is it? When will it be fixed?

We do not have an ETA on the resolution, we will notify all our customers as soon as this has been resolved.

Hi everyone

We realise that today has been a frustrating day for our customers. We’d like to thank you for your ongoing patience and update you on the current status of today’s issues.

JHB IPC network:

One of our IPC links in JHB has been running errors and needed to be taken offline while Telkom works on resolving the issue. This means that we are running at slightly reduced capacity on our JHB network which is impacting on P2P and may be having a negative impact on latency sensitive traffic such as gaming. We will notify you as soon as this is resolved. Please note that due to this issue we are experiencing high call volumes in our Contact Centre please make use of our Network Status Notices and Social Media updates for the latest updates.

Legacy DNS settings:

Since the launch of our IPC network last year we have allowed certain legacy DNS addresses (such as old SAIX DNS settings) to work on our network. The intention of this was to ease the customer transition from SAIX onto our IPC network. A lot has changed in the last year and one of the issues we encountered today has forced us to remove these legacy settings for good. Ideally we would have liked to do this more gracefully, however we have spent a lot of time over the last year stressing the importance of using automatically assigned DNS settings with our staff and our customers so we hope that the impact of this change will be minimal.

Seacom Maintenance Tonight:

We’ve been notified by Seacom that they will be carrying out emergency maintenance on a cable segment off the coast of Oman tomorrow morning between midnight and 5am. The cable will need to be powered down while the work is being carried out. We expect total down time to be in the region of 1 hour during which time we will utilise our SAT 3 failover to ensure continued connectivity. Please note that P2P traffic will cut back during this time and international latency may also be affected.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding on this challenging Monday J We trust that tomorrow will be a better day.

My internets have been afk the whole day! 1000+ ping on local gaming servers! if its a cable from jhb why is it affecting pta users?

Thats all very well, but my very old D-Link router has no option for automatically assigned DNS settings. What do you propose I do now?
 
Full speed on a torrent right now :/ What happened????

Damn Seacom...I think the maintaince is happening now...my International browsing is hella slow and the NBA playoffs are about to start :(
 
Looks like international is down. I've tried a SAIX and an IS account.
